Favorite Sunday activities: sock knitting and documentaries. Getting a History Hit subscription was one of the nicest things I have done for myself. 🧶

2nd pair of Finished Socks for 2025! These took forever to knit. They were knit from Opal 6ply, but I only had bamboo needles in the size I needed, and the yarn and needles did not like each other. I am getting more used to the afterthought heel, but it is still not my favorite way to knit socks. 🧶🐈

It’s National Margarita Day, so you know we had to celebrate this with Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew! We had a Limoncello Basil Margarita and a Blood Orange Basil Gin Fizz. Yummy on both counts - I do love basil in cocktails.

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew, we have a Ginger Aperol Blood Orange Margarita! The recipe calls for regular oranges, but we had blood oranges, so we are extra fancy. Had to make a quick ginger honey syrup because we didn’t have any straight up ginger simple syrup. Recipe below! 🍸

And in today’s special Valentine’s edition of Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew, we have the Blackberry Sidecar! Yes, it is half gone already. I do love blackberries. The recipe is below! 🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Blood Orange Mojito! Oh, so good! I liked the raspberry mojito the other night, but the brightness of the blood orange juice is so much better. The recipe we used is below! 🍸

It’s an Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew double header! This one is a Basil Lemon Drop, and holy cow it is yummy! This has to be in the top 3 for us. I need to find more drinks featuring basil because Hugo Spritz is another favorite. Recipe below and you don’t already follow Lexie, you should! 🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Raspberry Mint Mojito! Fruity and minty, and a gorgeous color. Not sure if you can tell, but it is also sparkly thanks to my friend Jen giving me some edible glitter! Recipe is below! 🍸

And in today’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the English Garden! Mine is prettier than Difford’s, however because we used raspberry apple juice and Empress 1908 gin. My book - The Empress by Kristin Cast. Cocktail link is below. 🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Arinato! Or as Andrew called it, Mostly Mezcal! On first sip, not my favorite. Both Andrew and I felt it needed to be sweeter, so we stirred in some simple syrup to make it more palatable. Live and learn! The recipe we used is below. 🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Raspberry Martini! Very decadent tasting - right away I wanted to have some chocolate with it (and normally I don’t like the raspberry/chocolate combination). Thankfully, I still have some Purdy’s chocolates. Oh - and I started new socks. 🍸 🧶

Unintentionally Double Chocolate Coconut Oatmeal cookies! Why unintentional? Well, you melt the butter for these cookies rather than soften it, and when I added it to the bowl with the dry ingredients, the chocolate chips melted. So, I had to add more on after. No matter - they are fantastic! 🍽️🍴

First pair of finished socks for 2025! Plain vanilla socks in Ancient Arts Fibre Socknado yarn in Beguilement. I think they look so pretty against the snow! 🧶

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - another Final Word variation, with Mezcal this time, called the Other Word. The Yellow Chartreuse really shines in this one. The recipe is below. My book tonight is Bad Reputation by Emma Barry! 🍸

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Blood Orange Limoncello Margarita! And I found the right oranges this time! I know it is cold and snowy out, so maybe not the best Margarita weather, but it is tasty! The recipe is below. 🍸

Eggnog Breakfast Buns! Think cinnamon rolls, but made with biscuit dough. Now back to my book. 🍴🍽️

Today’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Pomacello Martini. We had some pomegranate juice we needed to use up and this was a yummy choice. The recipe is below. And I’ve finished half of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls already! 🍸 💙📚

Today’s plans: cuddling cats and reading spooky books. 🐈 💙📚

Tonight’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Purple Negroni! Equal parts Empress 1908 Indigo gin, Italicus, and St. Germain. Sweet and pretty! The book in the background is North Is The Night by Emily Rath (fantasy novel based on Finnish mythology). 🍸 💙📚

Plans for today - finish these 3 books. And maybe clean off my kitchen table. 💙📚 📚🚀

Love cozy Sunday mornings with my cuddly boy. 🐈

Today’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - the Blood Orange Coconut Margarita! Your eyes do not deceive you - despite being very careful in my oranges purchase, I am fairly certain these were regular oranges and not blood oranges. I’m a bit peeved, but the drink is very citrusy and I like it. 🍸

If this is the only thing I achieve today, I am happy. This cutlery drawer has bedeviled me for a long time. I cleaned out the drawer, put in a new bamboo organizer, and culled through my cutlery.

Today’s Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - a Spicy Winter Bee’s Knees! Yummy! The recipe was for a regular Winter Bee’s Knees, but we punched it up with the last of our Fort Casimir Sweet Heat honey - so good! The recipe and honey links are below! 🍸

Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew - The Coastal Grandmother. Funny name, but yummy. Reminds me of a non-fizzy Hugo spritz. (#1 for 2025) Recipe link is below! 🍸

Last Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew for 2024 - the very timely Meet Me At Midnight. We used Empress 1908 gin and didn’t include edible glitter (looks pretty, but freaks me out). First drink we have had with crème de violette - pleasantly floral. The link to the drink recipe is below. 🍸

New Year’s Eve edition of Adventures in Cocktails with Andrew (and George!) - the Cherry Pomegranate Margarita! Very yummy! The recipe we used is below! 🍸

The whirling dervish has finally crashed after the excitement of his first Christmas tree. 🐈
