I know what I want to achieve. I have the vision. I know what it’ll look like when it’s done I can almost taste it. But the messy middle? That’s the hard part. For years, I beat myself up for struggling with the details until I realized: Letting go of operations isn’t failure, it's growth.

Don’t miss #mtpcon London 2025! I’ll be speaking about The Modern Leader and CEO: Mindset and Skillset for Leaders in the 2020s. Get your ticket & save £50 with LEECH50: Register here https://buff.ly/46h0UOD See you there!

A recent CEO survey reveals an interesting shift: (Source: visionfund.com) a thread 1/4

So how did you do it? How did you get to be a coach to CEOs? That’s the question I get asked the most often. How did I go from research and design to working with CEOs?

Struggling to scale? Hire leaders who can act as 'mini-CEOs'—managing teams & driving your vision forward. More insights at https://buff.ly/40N5vqj

At 100–200 employees, leadership needs outgrow expertise. Your team must transition into roles capable of strategy & scaling. Learn more about this topic at https://buff.ly/40N5vqj #CEO #CEOcoach

The biggest regret I hear from the CEOs I work with? Not making the decisive, often tough people decisions earlier. Starbucks’ CEO Brian Niccol has made two major changes to the Starbucks’ leadership team. Here's why 👇

The transition from founder to CEO can be tricky especially when your business hits 100+ employees. The team that got you here may not take you there. To scale effectively, you’ll need leaders who can act as “mini-CEOs,” setting strategy and managing larger teams.

Many of the #CEOs I work with complain that the big things don't get done. The teams and orgs are great at the small stuff but when it comes to big strategic initiatives, progress is slow. This is what I say... youtu.be/d7GY84b6rdQ

Founders: Your early team of subject matter experts might not be enough as your company grows. Leadership becomes the key.

Here are my book recommendations for the new year: Read the books you already bought.

The joys of living in rural England. The Milkman’s Christmas list.

More minidisc fun. It’s easier making a minidisc mixtape in 2024 than it was in 2004.

Today in working with CEOs: Going through a Series A pitch deck, working on a strategy to move from Red Ocean to Blue Ocean, addressing Burnout. Oh and a 7 year old singing carols as the Christmas lights get turned on by Martin Clunes. What a day!

Nine hours sleep, bleary eyed, come downstairs and FULL ON CHRISTMAS has started. Making decorations, carols playing, excitement at 11. Feel very grateful.

Making a minidisc mixtape like it’s 2002.

iPod time.

Excited to being taking part in the #decafproject coffee tasting with @jameshoffmann.bsky.social and thanks Crank House Coffee

Child is sick. Phoned school. Half way through leaving answer phone message wife makes obscene gesture, I try to hold back laughter, can't, blurt out apology and hang up. Now worried I have ruined child's eduction.

Wow just wow

Cleaning out my Dad’s office drawers. A very clear aesthetic.

Counter point to the 100s of posts complaining re the JaGUar rebrand 1. It has gone exactly to plan, Jaguar hasn't had this much interest in years 2. If you don't understand it, maybe it's not designed for you... I'd take different, even if I hate it, over the generic SUV world we live in now

In 2010, on the walk to the train station. There was a homeless man sat on steps. Old guy, huge beard. We made eye contact, he took a swig from his bottle, he looked me up and down and said…
