Special Avalanche bulletin still up for most of BC. Those weak layers are still buried and may wake up with the warm weather

Avalanche forecast for the Whistler area HIGH hazard above treeline •Approach lee and cross-loaded slopes with caution •Storm slabs in motion may step down to deeply buried weak layers and result in very large avalanches •Even brief periods of direct sun could produce natural avalanches

Anyone checked on Mt Cayley recently? Shallow earthquakes relatively near a potentially active strato volcano, sort of thing?

5 caught, 4 complete burials in avalanche north west of Whistler. Thankfully all are in stable condition. BZ to everyone who responded. Lots of great interagency cooperation on a rescue this scale www.piquenewsmagazine.com/must-reads/a...

Was honored to be involved in this very special escort last evening 🚨🧑🏻‍🎄🚒🚔

That's a wrap for the year! We take a quick break from weekly trainings over the holidays, capped off with avalanche rescue scenarios on Whistler in a blizzard. Whistler SAR (and all SAR teams) are available this holiday season 24 hours a day 7 days a week

For anyone stranded in Whistler,l due to the road closure, overnight shelter information will be available at 5pm at Whistler.ca

For anyone traveling the Sea to Sky to/from Whistler, there's been a large landslide north or Lions Bay. Highway is closed in both directions until at least midnight

Snow inbound for the south coast. New storm snow on facets will make for some dicey avalanche conditions in the mountains. Play safe
