Started today cooking pre-euthanasia sausages for the declining family dog. An ancient smoke detector is erratically beeping for no reason. Downstairs are having a home birth. Mum's been howling for hours. Upstairs are doing carpentry. I am popping pills for my nerves like a 50s housewife.
