“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” Diary of Anne Frank January 13, 1943

Word of the day is ‘bugiard’ (17th century): one who distorts the truth beyond all recognition to fit their own agenda.

Stopped listening to "Building a second brain" when the term 'creating value' was thrown out to contrast the non-user from user of tech to organize one's life. A meaningless term embedded in the tech/VC world. Value was abandoned for short term investments with large profits. Angers me so much. 🤬😠

Not sure why one feels this cannot be remedied. It's a phone call and a plane ride. If the answer to this is "that cannot be done", then it was not an administrative mistake.

Babel ...language is a prime example of a system based on hierarchical structures: words combine into phrases, and phrases combine into sentences..

Respectability.

So much confusion. There is nothing wrong with the app. If I create a secret group and ADDED a reporter to the group... Duh. Replace all occurances of 'hacking' with 'stupidity' bbc.com/news/videos/...

@benansell.bsky.social - are you saying the common enemy of Putin/Trump will cure the EU (and the world?) of populism?! That's like saying a good fist fight with the neighborhood bully will cure your diabetes. A distraction doesn't solve the real power-imbalance/contempt that produced populism. 🙁

Have been saying this for a long time. The madness to think it is remotely possible with today's technology is mind boggling. The fan boys of scientific progress need to realize our tech does NOT equal our daily consumption of sci-fi dreams. There are too many issues.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”
