@andyburnham.bsky.social - "Our core proposal is to create a...Live Well service delivered through trusted grassroots organisations to provide a range of everyday support & social interventions to our residents, helping them to remove barriers & take more control of their physical & mental health"

A typically considered and useful piece by @jpspencer.bsky.social on the Green Book here. Think the changes set out in this piece align with what I've called the 'culture & practice' of the Green Book in Whitehall. Time to reestablish it as an important *guide* following clear strategic objectives.

"Government will outline plans to locate 50% of UK-based senior civil servants in regional offices by 2030...[and] wants to create three new regional campuses, one in Manchester focused on digital innovation and AI & a second in Aberdeen focused on energy. The third location is yet to be announced."

A wonderful day at the #GMMoving conference. A joy to join 900 people across GM’s movement for movement. The movement that keeps moving, learning & giving. Grateful to everyone who joined in and especially the brilliant panelists who joined me to discuss how we create system and culture change.

Incredible analysis published by DWP on the cost of working age ill-health and disability that prevents work. If we don't focus on prevention and don't create the conditions for healthy thriving communities this is the cost. (HT @felly500.bsky.social) Link: www.gov.uk/government/s...

A welcome breath of fresh air as @mark-carney.bsky.social leads with three values in his victory speech: humility, ambition, and unity. globalnews.ca/news/1115459...

This is a fascinating #ukhousing article. - No housing starts in 23 of London’s 33 boroughs (Jan-Mar) - Only 1,210 homes started in London (lowest quarterly figure since GFC) - Economic performance concerns by developers/builders starting to rise? Link: www.knightfrank.com/research/art...

These numbers are remarkable.

Yes, it's about breaking down barriers and helping to build *movement* into everyone's day-to-day lives. To do this requires system change focused on barriers/inequalities. It needs an emphasis on local (place-based) solutions. Needs joined-up thinking. Link: www.gmmoving.co.uk/news/tacklin...

An important piece that strikes at the heart of the importance of reliable & robust data, the public investment required to get it, & the need for a collaborative culture. But it also makes me think of the need for a suite of sources, a mix of quant & qual, reliable evaluation. on.ft.com/3WSCN6h
