Long overdue safety upgrade for all the subways everywhere

Donors are drawn to courage and integrity.

Your friendly reminder that it is literally a federal felony punishable by up to five years in prison for the President, Vice President, or any employee of the White House to directly or indirectly ask the IRS to open an investigation into any specific taxpayer.

It's funny how journalists will go for the idea that -- despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary -- any Trump administration would be remotely capable of getting one thing done competently. Logical fallacy: that a hypothesis must be correct because it is counter-intuitive. Very seductive!

investing in university research made us the leader in science, medicine, and technology it’s not a cost.

PBS American Experience @amexperiencepbs.bsky.social produced an excellent documentary on this and the battle that eventually led to the establishment of the FDA. The Poison Squad is worth a watch www.pbs.org/wgbh/america...

An opportunity that Democrats will surely fail to take because that's how good they are at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Maybe they could mobilize on multiple fronts. That's just good strategy in most cases. That's also what the GOP has been doing. Doesn't seem like rocket science.

45% is still a scary high approval rating, considering what it's for. It should be much lower.

I'm not sure that civic virtues ever took a good hold in US history. I feel lucky for having gone to the high school I did, whose founder was an excellent teacher of civic virtues through his example.

Members of the current administration need to be referred to the International Criminal Court. Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and Marco Rubio, at the very least.

The principle at stake here is so fundamental it predates even Magna Carta in English law, and before that stretching all the way back to Rome, and has its similarly ancient equivalents in every legal system in the world, because it's the inherent bedrock foundation of what courts and laws are for.

Biden tried to be very pro-union and pro-middle class. What he did to uplift these demographics were effective, but done so gradually and quietly that the voters he was trying to persuade didn't notice and didn't care. But for some, economic issues were a red herring stand-in for cultural issues.

It happened just before the markets turned. Like, how did he know that was going to happen? 🫢

This reflects badly on everyone - no? USA: Obesity crisis, sluggish workers, materialistic desires China: Punishing and soulless working conditions And what is this for? New disposable clothing? A new phone as fashion accessory? It makes me feel sad looking through this black mirror.

"I find no comfort in the Trump administration’s embrace of my people, on college campuses or elsewhere. Jew hatred is real, but today’s anti-antisemitism isn’t a legitimate effort to fight it." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/07/o...
