I love this line of conversation. Everybody wants and needs education. Everybody wants affordable medical care. Everybody wants security. Everybody wants a safe, secure place to call home. Every time access to these things is degraded or destroyed the people responsible should be called out.

If you're a newsletter operator that is summarizing content from pubs like The Verge, TechCrunch, etc., name the outlet in your newsletter, next to the headline. They put huge resources into great writers and you couldn't do what you do without them. Giving them credit keeps you and them going.

Allon Korem's new article builds a theoretical foundation on why the hypothesis direction matters and explores the pros and cons of each approach.

25% of the current Y-Combinator class are using AI generated code for their products. Huge milestone. And, you gotta give to TechCrunch for calling this moment in time. I'd bet good money that this ends up in almost every B school's case study material by next year. techcrunch.com/2025/03/06/a...

I'm taking a moment of silence for the great Roy Ayres: apple.news/AvuRTspcQQLq...

The future of AI lies in autonomous agents — powered by scalable, serverless architecture.

Finally, some good news. Sheesh.

Michael Dell's reason for going back to the office? Communication speed: "What we're finding is that for all the technology in the world, nothing is faster than the speed of human interaction. A thirty second conversation can replace an email back-and-forth that goes on for hours or even days.”

Great article on what makes TikTok so special by @joabj.bsky.social He breaks down the recommendation engine and what makes it so special. Must read for anyone deep in the media world. thenewstack.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?...

Just to give you a sense of what it feels like to be an Angeleno right now: Everyone seems to know at least one person who lost their home to the fires.

This is a "need to read" for anyone involved in publishing.

Algorithms that have views? techcrunch.com/2024/12/18/n...

2024 has been a year of maturing AI software (especially AI coding tools), more automation (AI agents), emergence of small models and locally hosted LLMs, and more. Here's my top 5 AI engineering trends of 2024 on @thenewstack.io: thenewstack.io/top-5-ai-eng... #AI #developers

I'm not sure Ev bungled the internet - I'd say we've had a few good times based on the things he's left behind. Twitter was so fun in 2012 and if every article page was as clean as a Medium post I would read more on the internet. Great products not so great long term outcomes (so far).

56 years ago! It all started here: It's December 9, 1968, and Douglas Engelbart is about to showcase the world’s first personal, networked, computer — as a live demo. It’s the computing equivalent of a high-wire trapeze act with no net. cybercultural.com/p/1968-the-m... #ComputerHistory

This. Like, if we all had secure, sanitary, functional places to live the world would be a better place, right?

Is Voldermusk taken? Should he be named?

Happy Thanksgiving Bluesky people!
