The occasions on which I do quite enjoy Rugby

Brian Molko has been charged with defamation for calling the Italian PM a "racist" and "fascist". The right really don't like being called names do they? www.loudersound.com/news/placebo...

“The Ukrainian president was elected in free elections in Ukraine..he is an elected president of a free system. That's not the case with Vladimir Putin, who kills his opponents and has been manipulating his elections for a long time” Emmanuel Macron President of France 👏

Annoying to concede so late but that is 4 pts off Colchester this season #AFCW

⏰ HALF-TIME: The Dons lead 1-0 thanks to Browne’s goal. #AFCW 🟡🔵

Lots of clever commentators on the right are reluctantly concluding that Trumpism is rotten. Which is a bit odd because most people with History GCSE saw he was flat out fascistic the second he came down that elevator. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019...

I'm not having Fraser Nelson playing dumb on the rise of racism on the right after years spent printing Murray, Liddle, Taki and Shriver. I literally had a DM row with him years ago where I said this would happen.

For THE LOVE OF GOD, stop taking money from RUSSIANS. We don’t want our politicians OWNED BY RUSSIA. It’s not rocket science & surely by now, we should know better. If you agree, repost.

The US is now literally a mafia state, demanding protection money from another country with menaces.

Unbelievable, from the man who did more than anyone else to give Douglas Murray's explicit white ethnonationalism a platform and a bridge to the UK mainstream. archive.ph/LMDiX

Fairly sick of the sight of simpering British politicians trotting over to America to talk down our country in front of a bunch of braying MAGA fascists If you don't like this Britain, why not go and live in your beloved Trump’s America. (AM I doing this right)

What's the difference between firing someone "for DEI" and firing them because they are Black?

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

US stock markets fell sharply after an economic report showed American consumers are growing increasingly fearful of price increases and how President Donald Trump's tariffs could reignite the inflation crisis.

Who could possibly have predicted that a chaotic tariff and public spending policy might lead to economic worries? Oh yes, most of us.

Breaking News: Stocks tumbled as investors reacted to concerns about the economy and tariffs, erasing almost all gains since President Trump’s inauguration.

the fact that this is just a straightforward retelling of yesterday's events without hyperbole

Germany’s likely next chancellor, Friedrich Merz, has warned that Europe should be ready for Donald Trump to no longer uphold NATO’s mutual defense commitment unconditionally. Asked whether Germany should seek protection under France’s nuclear umbrella, he had this to say 👇 ow.ly/HeOJ50V4ooe

This loser is running the USA. You are totally screwed.

Honestly, this is an insane thing for a major political party to be running with. It’s mad. It’s by mad people for mad people.

The most successful electoral force in UK history is polling at 9% with people <50. And as long as they keep pretending this is the fault of the under-50s, who "don't want to work", have been brainwashed by "woke ideology" or don't believe in "Western civilization", there's little hope of recovery.

We need to re-emphasise the idea that politicians going abroad to slag off this country to foreigners in return for money or prestige is a shameful thing to do. Because even though I would guess 75% of normal people instinctively understand this, certain others do not.

Lib Dems push for 3% of national income on defence

I walk alongside the Wandle most days. The improvements made to its water quality have been apparent, even to non-experts like me. I'm not sure how you 'mistakenly' pollute like this.

Macron has just urged the French to join the military reserve. “We are entering a new era”. France will have to spend more on defence. “The threat that Russia represents imposes choices on us” (Live exchange on social media)

I don’t normally do the “check this estate agent listing” thing because I find it to be just rubbernecking, but honestly this one can get in the fucking bin. 150k for a side passage they’ve blocked off and called a house www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...

Last night I attended the Save Our Services rally in New York City. Listen to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) fighting for people & federal workers: “Every day our job is to wake up and say ‘what can I do today?’ — There is no act too small. Every action matters.” @aoc.bsky.social

Why is some nationalised defence manufacturing capacity not considered? It can repurpose sites, provide well-paid jobs, revitalise areas. It used to be the norm, for obvious national security reasons, esp during wars. It counts towards defence spend %GDP, but is neutral(ish) on the balance sheet.

For eight decades, alliances have formed the bedrock of American foreign, trade and cultural policy. But not any more. Europeans, but also America's Asian allies, need to accept this new world, and learn how to live in it. www.theatlantic.com/internationa...

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

"I, a professional political commentator, was so excited about Trump persecuting minorities and trashing the climate that I was completely oblivious to his obvious sympathy with Putin. Please pay me for my political analysis." I mean, rejoice over every sinner who repents and all that, but come on

Daily Star has nailed it as usual 🤣

Trump could have pushed for an end to the war in Ukraine without becoming actively hostile to Ukraine. Instead, he has imbibed Putin’s lies. Have written about the emergence of a new US/Russia axis, where it comes from and the staggering implications for Europe. open.substack.com/pub/goodalla...

They need to search him on the way out.

Two Ukrainian oppositional leaders: Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko (both hate Zelensky and hate each other) have publicly supported Zelensky, said his term prolongation is legit until the end of the war, and said elections are impossible now. Listen to Ukrainian opposition.

Zelensky needs ammunition not a Trump deal

Trump is a Russian stooge. Putin may as well written this himself. And any Republican in Congress who said they support our allies before, but are silent today over this, are worthless.

Calling Zelensky a “Dictator” must be where the line is drawn. It is my sincere hope that the whole political spectrum in the United Kingdom will speak with one voice in opposition to Trump’s lies.
