To empower marginalized communities and address wealth inequalities from centuries of racism and discrimination, we must champion economic democracy. By giving people a voice in the economy, we enable them to take control of their economic futures. It's time to shift from plutocracy to inclusivity.

THIS IS HOW YOU STAND UP: EEOC admin judge Karen Ortiz resisted an order to hand over all LGBT cases for “review” and told colleagues to resist too. She knows she’ll likely to be fired. “I can exist on cornflakes and community if it means that my soul is intact.” www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/u...

What I know about what is lawful: Diversity, equity, and inclusion are legal (and moral!) All students receiving a free and public education is legal (regardless of immigration status or gender identity.)

I was inspired to do a little something, based on a comment @prisonculture.bsky.social made earlier this week, and put together this flyer with federal policy actions that happened this week. I hope people find this useful!

Can’t wait to post a few of these!

Thoughts on this design? Planning for a #science teachers conference. Also, bonus points if you know what the white lines are.

A bunch of STEM teachers who received a presidential award after years of delay, had given up thinking they’d ever get the monetary part of the award. Tonight the #NSF started their direct deposits. It’s a small thing, but it’s making me hopeful. #PAEMST

NEW UPDATE to Some Actions That Are Not Protesting or Voting. - a few people have written to me to ask if I could include HEADINGS and I have done so. Also added a few more ideas. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

This is a coup.

Happy Friday! I absolutely had to bring this chicken home with me. Found her at my local Goodwill where I do a weekly look for clothes for my toddler. #ShopSecondHand #WhoNeedsTarget

My experience as a Black woman never included feeling safe or protected by this government. It's actually been very much the opposite. If this is your first time feeling terrified and/targeted by those in power, you've lived a privileged life. It is what is. Now get to work.

Feb 28! Buy nothing, friends! I already peaced out of Amazon, quit Target, and very rarely am in Walmart. (bc rural America) Employee owned Winco, my local food co-op, and sometimes Costco! Trying not to buy things in general anymore. Let’s goooo!

"the company’s elevated stock price becomes increasingly dependent on the belief that Musk the magician can deliver wildly creative new products. That image is fading." @davidzipper.bsky.social why boycotting Telsa could make Elon hurt

All of Washington’s #ClimateEd resources are free on our OER hub! We also welcome materials from others so if you need a spot to share any climate teaching materials, we will review them. oercommons.org/courseware/l...

Being a human on this planet has always been hard, always harder for some than for others. I’m going to keep working to make it better. Don’t give up, friends!
