What factor plays the prominent (i.e. strongest) role is shaping functional connectivity? We also investigate if different factors shape and constrain different aspects of FC. We develop a simple test - remnant functional networks. direct.mit.edu/netn/article...

Here we leverage trial-to-trial fluctuations in the brain-wide signal recorded using functional MRI to test if distinct sets of brain regions are activated on different trials when accomplishing the same task. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
