How is it normal that the world burns 100,000,000 barrels of oil each and every day. Answer: it's not, it's actually just a temporary phenomenon; oil is finite and will be leaving us soon. Meanwhile, that 100,000,000 barrels results in the creation of about 1,000 pounds of CO2.....per barrel!

Fun fact: ALL of the oil extracted and burned by humans...around 1.6 trillion barrels...would fit into a box about 4 miles on a side. This is also about the total of known reserves worldwide. We will feel oil decline soon and it will be gone by 2040. Fascinating that no politicians discuss this.

Yesterday the world burned 23 million tons of coal. Today, same...tomorrow...same. There are 4.2 tons of CO2 generated per ton of coal burned, so close to 100 million tons of CO2 added to the atmosphere....just from coal....every day. And no, the trump shitshow is not coming to save us.

Just a reminder, in amongst all the other crazy human stuff going on as we close in on collapse, we burned 103,000,000 barrels of oil..............yesterday.

Update: His health guy doesn't believe in medical science. His law guy is a sex trafficker. His intelligence gal is a Russian asset. You're all caught up.

"Controversial Views"? The man ignores science. Don't do this NPR. We need you.

I'm just a person, and a senior citizen at that, but I am amazed how many think trump's admin is somehow going to make the world better. Our govt is a bloated mess, yes, but yikes, trumps airheads and putin-snakes are coming in to kill it off and steal it piece by piece. That's the agenda.

Well, this gets it exactly right, doesn’t it?

Absolutely astounding that humans were able to extract and burn 100 million years of captured hydrocarbons in just 200 years, thus ensuring their extinction as a species. And no, trump's shitshow is not coming to save us.

Whatever happened to "peak oil"? Fracking came along and everybody quieted down, but we're burning 100 mm barrels a day and the day of reckoning is just ahead. So tragic to see the most valuable substance on earth literally pissed away.

The greatest tragedy in earth history is the human belief it infinite growth on a finite planet.
