Could not have been clearer about this www.theverge.com/24282022/kam...

This is trivial in the scheme of things, but just shows how little time Elon Musk spends actually reading the claims from which he draws sweeping conclusions. An anonymous X influencer posted an unsourced claim about Sen. Cornyn--and Musk shared it as proof that "legacy media lies relentlessly."

Oh damn Prime actually published their failed chatgpt prompt in the description

Doge Man (2025)

seems like it is a big deal that the unifying ideology of the doge team is neo nazism

45 years of corporatist, right wing, and "free market libertarian think tank" bullshit and propaganda stewed these oblivious rubes in their own Kool aid about how the dismantling of coherent governance would result in some mystical, innovation pooping utopia

28% of American adults have a reported disability, and all of us experience disability in our lives. Section 504 protects your right to work, your kids' right to education, and our collective human rights. Call your attorney general to ask they protect Section 504. 5calls.org/issue/sectio...

They never miss.

I'm literally begging Chuck Schumer to retire. Please. For the love of god, I can't watch this anymore.

and I'd like to propose that the worst .01% of humans alive, take a third grade civics class....

this guy being the shadow president and posting like this is proof that, just like the cold war, gamergate never truly ended

A Nazi billionaire is drilling directly into Fort Knox in broad daylight and we’re just watching it happen.

I need you to look at these screens and realize there are ONLY 32 COLORS. This art is a master class.

These peoples' minds are pickled beyond the point of all rational thought, let alone the basest modicum of empathy.

More of this, please.

Thinking back to how many quotes the media had from people saying "well, I trust Trump, he'd never take away *my* healthcare, because he cares for us."

I'm so happy he's focused on the most pressing and vital issues of our time. 🙄 www.bostonglobe.com/2025/01/27/n...

With Spray Tan Mussolini et al farting back into office tomorrow, I am really rethinking the merits of the Castle Doctrine.

just watch a tv show and let its creators tell you the story over its entire run, what is wrong with you people

Look, we are in a Very Bad Place™ right now as a society. I get it. I've internalized it. But. BUT, sometimes us humans just get a *gift*. nokiadesignarchive.aalto.fi/index.html?n...

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

"ChatGPT, please write a headline perfectly summarizing the current moment." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

These people need, like, a team of Austrian psychologists

this is so good. this is so so so good. i'm running around my office screaming the lev manovich quote about how software is ideology

Transphobia is a rich man's game. It allows billionaires to position themselves as brave truthtellers challenging the status quo without really risking anything because the group they're demeaning lacks much of any institutional power. It gives them the thrill of martyrdom without any sacrifice.

As someone who spent years reporting on Zuckerberg, I've struggled to find something coherent to say about today. Then @cwarzel.bsky.social reminded me of my old reporting. This is what a FB employee said to me in 2020 after Zuckerberg addressed workers following FB-enabled violence in Kenosha, WI.

It’s funny Zuck says “I started building social media to give people a voice” when in fact, he started building social media to publicly rate the hotness of undergrads.

It's hard for me not to get sidetracked into critiquing all of the ways I think this Zuck announcement is stupid, short-sighted from a business perspective, and cowardly (other posters are doing a fine job of that already) but some preliminary thoughts, subject to revision:

now that authoritarian bullies are in charge, Zuck can get rid of the pretense he cares about race-baiting right wing propaganda and hate speech online, and fully pursue mindless engagement chasing under the pretense he's just super interested in free speech and fighting "censorship"

Only in Trump’s America does Zuckerberg utterly cave to the demands of an unelected wannabe government censor and call it protecting free expression www.theverge.com/2025/1/7/243...

I don't where this all ends up, but I don't think a democracy in which only one of the two major parties is committed to peaceful transition of power is particularly sustainable!

Everyone else has left the Office for "the holidays" me and my AI Assistant are getting FUCKED UP in Gino's cubicle

Please read this wonderful piece from @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social.

I'm not crying, you're crying!

100 years ago tomorrow. New York Times, November 23, 1924: “The automobile looms up as a far more destructive piece of mechanism than the machine gun. The reckless motorist deals more death than the artilleryman. … Immediate action [is necessary] to halt the homicidal orgy of the automobile.”

Attorney General Matt Gaetz has brought down his first and last sex criminal, Attorney General Matt Gaetz.

Never seen a fire big enough to light up the night sky here in Boston before. Ugh.
