Apparently it is National Cheese Day. As is the custom, I will solemnly eat an entire 8 oz block of sharp cheddar for lunch

TLDR disaster June 2, 1983. I am still mad about Stan Rogers dying young. I guess on the bright side we now have higher safety standards involving inflight fires and how to prevent them. 🤷 I want Northwest Passage Part 2 😭.

Oh hell yeah, @durrymusic.bsky.social is back with a new video! I *really like these guys* youtu.be/dhwgivFHQiI

I had a June bug come out of nowhere, smack into my cheek in the kitchen, and fall to the floor. Suki pawed at it and then basically gave up. "Bug too big. Nope."

Trying to stay positive. Let's read a letter! 1 like = 1 line from Robert E. Howeard to August Derleth, c. after 9 July 1933 0: Dear August,

HEEEEEEEEEEERE WE ARE BORN TO BE KINGS WE'RE THE PRINCES OF THE UUUUUUUNIVERRRRRRRRSE

Without saying Bohemian Rhapsody, fav Queen song?

270) Newbootsbots. Break in your new boots. #SmallRobotsRemastered

Evergreen

Ok so I didn’t really need that in my adult beverage but thanks for sharing

Just finished recording Hugo History #2 with @robtomshany.bsky.social, focusing on the 1955 Hugo winner: They'd Rather Be Right by Mark Clifton and Frank Riley. Apparently, this book is reputed to be the "worst" Hugo winner! (I don't think it deserves that!) (Pod won't drop until August.)

"Ha ha ha, nose on a rock." - Neanderthal (43,000 years ago)

May 29, 1846. Sarah Keyes, age 70, dies after a long battle with tuberculosis. Her death would have been likely whether she had stayed In Springfield or had come along to California. There had been hope they would have made it and the climate would improve her condition… 1/3

As it would be the birthday of #PeterCushing today, I feel obligated to tell this story of one of the nicest men in horror.

May 26, 1846: the Russell party makes it through muddy tracks to find their next crossing, the Big Blue River, loaded with debris and filled with churning, sediment filled water. Fording the river as it was would not be possible. They would have to wait for the waters to recede… 1/2

There's so many, from so may different eras of Bowie. Just the singles alone: Starman, Jean Genie, Rebel Rebel, Under Pressure (with Queen!), I'm Afraid of Americans... But the loss and awe and fear he injected into one small verse: "Tell my wife I love her very much." Space Oddity forever.

Without saying Heroes, fav David Bowie song?

Just. And the Mark Robson cover also kicks ass.

Street Spirit (Fade Out) is empirically the best Radiohead song and music video, I'm sorry, I don't make the rules.
