On VE Day wise old mother tree tells youngsters in the background stories of things she saw 80 years ago. #VEDay #thicktrunkTuesday #trees #woodland

Railroad. Well it’s a sort of road. For trains 😁 Taken from a pedestrian crossing. #alphabetchallenge #weekRforRoads.

Big skies and open spaces. Busy these Norfolk roads 🙄. #alphabetchallenge #weekRforRoads #SundayYellow #tenminutesfromhome

It’s Friday so another finger post from the coast on the Weavers Way - dating back to pre Industrial Revolution it was a path to move local cloth between Cromer and the port of Great Yarmouth. Stretching 61 miles across Norfolk it is regularly used by walkers #fingerpostFriday

Here comes a the summer 🎶. Wishing everyone a good and positive May The end of the garden which I leave a bit wild in a few places looking splendid in the early May sun. #gardening #gardens 🌱

It’s May so the more sensitive plants that I’ve propagated and kept in the greenhouse can come outside. Will go into beds in a week’s time. Salvias and scented pelargoniums in flower early. #gardening #plants 🌱

Not a bad line up for less than 3 minutes worth in the garden early this morning. The nightingale was a first for me. #birding #Norfolk #Merlinapp

There’s something great about wandering around the garden in the early morning on days like these. This is Malus ‘Aros’, a dwarf crab apple with copper leaves and red flowers. Bred in Denmark and an RHS ‘plant of the year’ a little while back. #gardening #trees 🌱

For todays #roseWednesday this is ‘Eustacia Vye’ grown in a pot on the patio. A fabulous, highly scented rose that I also have in a rose bed. Bred by David Austin. From 2024, I’ve cropped it from a pic I used a while ago. #roses #gardening 🌱

For #thicktrunkTuesday I have to share this amazing white oak (Quercus alba). It must have seen a dozen or more strong storms yet it retains this almost drawing-like symmetry. #trees #nature #Blickling #Norfolk

I experimented with planting two small Pulsatilla last year. Only this one has survived but I love it. It’s in a dry garden area and different to everything else in there. I’m hoping I can spread it around from here. #gardenshour #gardening 🌱

Great place for a late afternoon snooze at the bottom of the garden. Think it might get used quite a bit this week, a reward after a day’s grafting. #gardens 🌱

It’s going to be another cracking day! Enjoy those open spaces. #SundayYellow #nature
