Updating dependencies in a project that’s been ignoring tech debt is super painful. Prioritize your tech debt.

where's the EO that we've all gotta rename our github branches back from `main` to `master`?

I’m going to circle back to atexplore.social very soon. There are still some lingering UX issues I need to clean up and some new features I want to ship. I’ve been more focused on improvements to my site lately.

🥁 Angular has survived multiple framework waves and is now coming into a new era... but so much happened in its 15+ year history! As we all know, the path has been windy. Now there's a documentary about it! As always, Honeypot tells a great story: youtu.be/cRC9DlH45lA?...

I really need to dig back into my feed generator. I built a feed quickly a while ago, but got distracted with other projects. The feed isn’t working currently.

Finally got @sanity.io fully set up on my site, and all content is now managed with Sanity or the AT Protocol. Also started integrating with @atexplore.social. Both sites are close to being fully configurable, which makes managing them much easier.

Decided to flip the switch on this. I bridged my accounts using @ap.brid.gy, added them to a list, and leveraged atexplore.social to pull the feed into my site. This approach is much simpler than managing the integrations and building the feed myself.

Still a work in progress, but I have it setup here. My bridged Threads account isn’t working right for some reason. beta.whiteside.io

This has been interesting, but not sure if I’m ready to flip the switch yet.

Over the last month or so, I wanted to learn more about the AT Protocol. I built this data explorer to learn more. Over the holidays, I finally got it into a spot where I feel comfortable sharing it. atexplore.social

Anyone build anything interesting over the holidays?

Excited to have some time over the next two weeks to spend on my personal projects!

This is interesting, it also plugs into IDEs and forks of VSCode. I’m going to hook it up to Cursor.

One of my favorite uses for Cursor has been helping me quickly set up unit tests. It’s not perfect, but it gets me about 90% of the way there. I usually just need to fix a couple of smaller things and verify that the tests perform as expected.

I have about five or six ideas I want to try out for my side project, and figuring out which one to dive into first is pretty tough!

Got my feed generator set up and created a very basic feed. Still need to tweak the algorithm a bit. I have a few feed ideas I want to start playing around with.

Starting to experiment a bit with custom feeds. Hopefully, I will have some to share soon.

React v19 is now stable! react.dev/blog/2024/12...

Do I share my project now and build in public, or wait to polish it a bit more?

AI has made writing GitHub actions so much easier.

Is developing for Safari the new developing for Internet Explorer?

Now that I have my PDS setup, I think the next thing I want to dig into is custom feeds.
