This feels like a wildly inappropriate time and place to negotiate—and I don’t trust for a second that Trump has suddenly seen the light. But at least this “meeting” with Zelenskyy got him to admit he doubts Vladimir Putin actually wants to end the war in Ukraine. We’ll see.

44 days ago, Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire. Every day since, russia continues their eager attempts to kill as many Ukrainian civilians as possible, targeting our cities far away from the frontline. It is obvious russia doesn’t want peace. russia must be strong-armed into it.
