Elon is crazy. Which seems important. www.shesabeast.co/mars-radiati...

I wrote about what I read at the end of last year. I know. I know. www.jonathanpinnock.com/2025/02/what...

Well, the lads from National Grid have been and gone, so with any luck we'll have continuous power for the rest of the day.

Extremely entertaining extracts from the diaries of former chief whip Simon Hart in The Times today. Kemi, Suella and myriad others come off about as well as you’d imagine. www.thetimes.com/article/e25f...

I will never understand how this wasn’t the end for either of these deranged brats. Every milquetoast brownnoser who elevated or defended them hoping for a crumb from their unearned power should be ashamed. You knew. The evidence was right there. But you liked standing near the big boys.

Oh yes, Homer’s famous “Tes Thdpssssps.” 👍🏻

"Hello Jonathan Pinnock, We found something you might like" Oh no, you haven't. You have no idea what I like, because my interests are random and chaotic.

Got one of those mailing list emails from hipster furniture company Myakka just now (can't remember what we ever bought from them). Always makes me think of Jesse's Fashion Tips: "This week, I have mostly been wearing Izzy Miyaki"

Cooked an experimental thing tonight, first time in a while. Did not entirely work, but we had an entertaining time discussing how we could fix it for next time.

I was enjoying this thread until someone mentioned Bruckner, WHO CAN DO NO WRONG. That smug git Brahms, on the other hand...

Oh, this is sad. Jamie made an extraordinary contribution to one of the most extraordinary albums, Lark's Tongues in Aspic.

This is rather magnificent

Been doing it wrong all these years

#KEXP just played 5 versions of David Bowie’s “Heroes” back to back, including this one by David Byrne that I’ve never heard before. I feel like I should go buy a lottery ticket but in a way I’ve already won. youtu.be/w7HJZPlJn_U?... #davidbowie #davidbyrne #heroes #music #covers #morningmade

Stuck my finger in the glue pot for no good reason. Got sent out of the room.

Went to a talk by John Volanthen (the Thai cave rescue guy). Extraordinary chap. Absolutely heroic but totally unassuming.

I know this is a very minor victory in the grand scheme of things, but the plumber has just replaced our defective central heating pump and the house is slowly warming up again.

Found when sorting an old drive. I still, very occasionally, say 'not many badgers in the House of Lords' and this is why:

Well, Severance took a bit of a turn this week.

This one.

Nicely done, Wikipedia person

Listening to Holst's Hymn of Jesus and remembering there's so much more to him than Side 1 of The Planets. Once played in a performance of his Hammersmith Prelude and Scherzo (hands up who's heard of that one, eh?) Absolutely hated it at first but grew to love it as we got to grips with it.

Hello, all. Because of the entry system screw up last night and we're a little low on entries, we'll reopen for 24 hours as soon as we can make it happen on Monday morning, so you have the weekend to get your entry ready, and we'll announce Monday when we're open! Share?! bssp.blogs.bristol.ac.uk

🚨🚨 So five years since #brexit and I think it is time reshare Daniel Hannan's absolutely insane and delusional vision of grandeur and hubris that characterised the true engineers and believers of #brexit. Here comes the #brexit insanity No 1 🧵 www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...

Cheese and leftover haggis toastie for lunch. Would recommend. *****

Magnificent thread

Listening to the extended edition of the first OMD album for the first time in a while and I'd COMPLETELY forgotten that they did a version of Waiting For The Man. It's... not great.

Big tech really ought to concentrate on making a reliable fucking printer first.

This kid slightly misunderstood their homework assignment and we could not possibly love it more. 12/10
