So here's a thing that happens. Every few days, when walking along the street, certain people who cross paths with my eldest son will say, "Fucking ginger." or similar. This is utterly incomprehensible to me. Part of me wishes to disbelieve it because it's so absurd. But I believe my son.

@karenswallowprior.bsky.social I'm halfway through On Reading Well, and the chapter on Courage has left me in tears. I think it's the first time I've been given words about "the courage to overcome a corrupt conscience". Some of us have been doing courageous work and been called sinful heretics.
