I have officially surrendered my drivers license to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. My vision is failing. I am legally blind in my right eye and have glaucoma in my left. I am unable to pass the visual acuity exam to keep my DL.

I learned today that The Virginia, a well-known local theatre here in Somerset, will be showing the film “Sergeant York”, later this year. The film was a biography of my great great grandfather, Alvin York, who was portrayed by Gary Cooper in 1941. I’m definitely gonna go.

So, I’m on Ambien 5mg tabs. I think I took 3 of them. That’s 15 msg of sleepy meds. But it’s cool. I see my little brown friend poking his head out from the closet. He waves at me and blows me a kiss. Such a great critter.

I-40 EB near Waynesville, NC, MP 24. I was headed to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) with loaded ink tanks. 79,990 lbs gross weight. To my knowledge, this stretch of I-40 east is gone due to Hurricane Helene. I haven’t been to NC since before I was forced into medical retirement in 2023. June 23, 2022.
