I can't remember the last time a publisher has had such a long string of wins like DC is having right now with all the Absolute books. #comicsky #comics

Time to catch up on some of what I've been reading lately. #comicsky #marvel #dc

I don't care how big it is, a pot pie is always just 1 serving.

All this nonsense surrounding Assassin's Creed Shadows is a clear example why experienced game reviewers are important.

I just witnessed a marriage proposal in a McDonald's parking lot. I really hope there was a story behind this.

Finally got around to trying Forspoken and I can say that all the criticisms about the voice acting and dialogue are legit. But, I've been having a really fun time with it regardless. The combat is fun and actually rewards you for experimenting.

I just downloaded Realis (Ashcan Edition) by Austin Walker thecalcutec.itch.io/realis

The first issue of Dark Pyramid from Mad Cave Studios is a technically sound, well-crafted horror opener. But some of its gimmicks get old by the end. #comicsky

very excited to have picked this up the other day #jazzsky

It's weird to pretty much have my gaming outlook already planned out. First up its Expedition 33, then Death Stranding 2. Then some backlog stuff like finishing Metaphor and Avowed.

I love cooking. But I wish all the smells would go away as soon as I'm done eating.

Today "Alexa play Neon Moon" came from my mouth. I'm not sure things are going okay.

The comic reading was a little slim this week, but I read just enough to form a strong opinion about a beloved X-Men character. #comicsky #comics

Anyone else remember a video that went around the file sharing services where a guy is blowing up an inflatable raft and his kid jumps on it and blows his head off? Did I imagine this?

Why are so many app icons blue and white?

I just finished City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff Vandermeer. It might be the most unique and captivating things I've read in a long time, but it can get overindulgent in those things that make it unique. #booksky #literaturesky #fantasysky

Here's my thoughts about some of comics I read last week. #comicsky #comics

Just read Uncanny X-Men 10 by @gailsimone.bsky.social and I honestly didn't realize how much dread a little stuffed dinosaur could give me until now.

Plans are in the work to revive this with a lot of changes, so now's the time to check it out because there's no guarantee all this content will still be there when it comes back to life. #writersky #fictionsky #booksky

"Why can't printers just have trays that fit a whole sheet of paper!?" I was about to yell before realizing that the tray telescoped 🤦‍♂️

The first issue of The Hive from Image Comics is stylish and gritty, but these qualities get in the way of it being a coherent or engaging story. #comicsky

Marvel Mutts 1 from Marvel is a great way for people to read these surprisingly fun and emotional stories, who might not have been able to access them before now. #comicsky #dogsky

I'm all for the use of footnotes in fiction books that have excerpts of an in-universe reference book. But once the number of footnotes starts reaching the 50s, you may have overdone it with the gimmick. #booksky #literaturesky

The first issue of Power Man Timeless has some cool moments and some really cool visual flair, but doesn't make a good case for why it has to be in the mainline Marvel Universe. #comicsky

I didn't give out too many perfect scores. But Absolute Superman 4 just hit all the right notes for me. #comics

Having now read all the Absolute comics currently out from DC, and while I respect the shorthand of describing it as "DC's Ultimate Universe", they do feel like two very different things.

Ever since I started working from home part of the week I realized there was something missing from my life, pajama pants.

Why does napping feel like surrender?

The first issue of The Seasons by @remender.bsky.social is interesting in that it's kinda plot-light, but I think it works.

Nothing makes me more nervous than hearing my cat throw up in the middle of the night but then not being able to find where.

The best ebook platform, if you make a lot of notes, is Google Play Books.

I go back and forth a lot about whether there's a sort of disservice being done by the reliance of classics when teaching younger students. Would it be better to teach more contemporary titles with similar themes and then direct towards classics? #literaturesky #booksky

I love Christopher James Larkins work on Hollow Knight. I'm some spots I get a real Thomas Newman vibe from it.

I'm a notoriously slow reader so books over 400 pages is a big time investment, but I've been eyeing up City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff VanderMeer. Is it worth getting into? #literaturesky #booksky app.thestorygraph.com/books/ee20c6...

Finished The Absolution of Roberto Acestes Laing by Nicholas Rombes. My one criticism is that I think it gets just a bit too clever for it's own good. Other than that it's a fascinating play on what a narrative can be and a lesson in how stories can be told without ever being told. #booksky

When are we going to get a horror or romance anthology movie where the framing device is a crappy podcast reading reddit stories?

All of the Absolute comics have been solid, I think Absolute Wonder Woman has been the strongest though through the first 4 issues.

I've come to believe that both major US political parties have a purpose. The Democrats are a useful tool that one day can be discarded for a more progressive party that doesn't have special interests. The Republicans are a way to identify dysfunctions in society.

There are times when you need to fight tooth and nail when you know you're right. Pub trivia is not one of those times.

I'm an unapologetic eavesdropper, one of my favorite interactions to listen in on is the excited upswing in someone's voice when they're joined by someone, but then that upswing doesn't go back down, making it all seem very suspicious.

I've always believed that social media is best when used to share random thoughts that may attract other weirdos like yourself. With that being said, beef pot pies are far superior to chicken.

I was surprised how well Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon worked as a plausible duo. #comicsky #marvel

Because I just like showing people my cats, Murray and Phin, they're boyfriends.

Why you should regularly clean your fountain pens.

They said I couldn't put a coffee machine in my office, I wonder if I could get away with an electric kettle and a pourover setup

This thing has saved me at least a hundred dollars in therapy.
