Watching both sides of the aisle race to condemn a guy who basically campaigned on “everything is too expensive and maybe it shouldn’t be” is extraordinarily informative.

There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

Jamelle Bouie on point as usual; SCOTUS is grievously wrong wrt nationwide injunctions and the constitutional function of district courts, and thus grievously wrong on the appropriate remedy to the birthright citizenship EO or any other facially unconstitutional act. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx7H...

The opinion seems to assert that the executive can continue to act outside of the constitution until every last person has gained standing (by being harmed), and sued and won. So, forever.

Today's decision previews a dystopian reality where a lawless President can dispense with the Constitution to deprive American children of their rights. And whether these kids have the right to defend themselves now depends on the state in which they live. That is un-American and wrong.

The incomparable Sherrilyn Ifill @sifill.bsky.social has an incisive take on these masked thugs and brings historical receipts. sherrilyn.substack.com/p/masked-ter...

I'm going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way.

Hiding your identity and credentials as an officer means you KNOW you have something to hide and are acting outside of the law and decency. This is an arbitrary police state we are in here, folks. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

these absolute losers are just going for it (again)

So he's feeling a bit of what the people he's so eager to harm are feeling. But does he see the connection? Does he get it? No, he's /steadfastly against/ getting it.

If the law is opaque, it becomes arbitrary. This is the way of dictatorship.

Finally we can emotionally understand what it was like to live in an absolutist monarchy, where everyone had to constantly obsess over the emotional state of fundamentally flawed, narcissistic individuals, because they decided the fate of the world.

Pray that it is so

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

Worth a quick read – the ICE agents kidnapping people are completely extralegal. www.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles... It's no surprise when you have Tom Homan recruiting Proud Boys to be the American Gestapo: www.splcenter.org/resources/ha...

Fascists avoiding prison will kill anyone they can to continue to be fascists avoiding prison

It’s not MAHA, it’s LID — Leave the Ill to Die. Apparently, you deserve to be punished for having the temerity to fall ill for whatever reason. The lord helps those who help themselves, and RFKJ intends to prove it by NOT helping, by anti-helping, en masse.

Pray that this is so — so far there’s no visible uptick in shame.

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

If you weren't ashamed of what you're doing, you wouldn't have to cover your face.

I know this can sound kind of silly at a time like this, but doing a war without congressional authorization is ample grounds for impeachment

If Donald starting a war without Congressional approval isn't an impeachable offense, what is? Well, other than all the other things he does . . . like kidnapping Americans and disappearing them without due process.

Personally I am unfamiliar with any legitimate activity that requires switching license plates, which by the way is illegal.

when we scream and shout about doing things, this is what we mean. got popped and still went back again? hell yeah brother

Quite the opposite. It's CRITICAL to second-guess the president, as with any other official. Some officials are much more eligible for second-guessing than others: the ones who demonstrate their incompetence daily through utterances such as this odious "don't second-guess the president" bullshit.

if you don’t know the history of Dodger Stadium you can’t fully understand what unfolded today. thanks @chrislhayes.bsky.social for the opportunity to share it.

You ever think about how fascism is imperialism turned towards the metropole?

Jackson calling balls and strikes – and as usual she's right. The "textualists" and "originalists" before them are pretenders, happy to slice and dice words without attention to intent or constitutional ideals in order to arrive at the (odious) ideological outcomes they prefer.

Straight up gestapo shit: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025... “They didn’t identify themselves. They just came out. They didn’t even say anything. They just started trying to open the doors,” Reader said. “I kept asking, who are you? What are you doing? And they wouldn’t answer.”

Time to warm up the block button. Let him rattle around here by himself for a while. He'll lose interest eventually.

More, please.
