What are the benefits of regional pride? Are there any? Things like, "OMG! The winner is from <Here>! I'm from <Here>! We're awesome!" I do not understand the logic. ALSO (related?): Fans of sports teams: why is it acceptable to be "we won!" when a team wins and "they were terrible" if they lose?
