It is truly fucking wild how the introductory thesis of this argument is, "As we all know, men will find any loophole they can to be sex criminals and degenerates. My primary source on this is me, a degenerate."

This scrum of pot-bellied, sunken-chested betas trying to bully an all-black clad badass Eastern European wasteland survivor while dressed like Men’s Wearhouse mannequins is peak cinema.

Trump and RFK will crush efforts to continue developing mRNA vaccine technology, a miracle breakthrough that is already shown to be doing stuff like this:

Republicans have been trying to kill Social Security for my entire life, using legal legislative processes. Now they're just going to do it illegally by Executive fiat.

Bears repeating that social security is incredibly INCREDIBLY efficient to run. Its overhead costs are basically zero when you consider the size of the undertaking and the genuine benefits delivered. If anyone was interested in improving govt efficiency, the SSA would be their model not their target

My first time on the front page of a newspaper was after a 10-hour shift firefighting. I was so dirty, my own mom didn’t recognize me. When I called her the next day she exclaimed, “That was YOU?!?” A story about the federal firings. 1/

Quite hard to describe massive cuts at Social Security Admin plus cancelling (without explanation) the flu vaccine committee meeting as anything other than an intentional financial, physical, and psychological attack on everyone over 65 years old. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/u...

The language, as described, is superfluous. It is already constitutional and federal statutory law that the administration must spend the money that Congress appropriates. Congress’s power of the purse fundamental to our system of government. And yet, it’s a red line for Republicans to include it.

This is terrifying.

Anti-vax policy and advocacy is not "skepticism" or "hesitancy." It means murdering children. That is the real world outcome of this lie.

There is no constitutional right to pseudonymity, and there especially isn’t for federal workers who are asked to disclose social media profiles as part of their review for clearances. But here’s the Ed Martin acting like there’s one anyway.

Nothing about kids dying from measles is normal. Anti-vaxxers like RFK Jr. and the Republicans who enable them are responsible for every single one of these deaths.

I still don’t understand why Democrats would negotiate a budget when the Trump administration claims unilateral authority to cancel any spending it dislikes. As long as congressional Republicans endorse that position, they are not legitimate negotiation partners! An agreement with them has no value!

Has anyone called Bitcoin “Dunning-Krugerrand” yet?

WaPo’s use of “unusual” further obscures the blunt racism of the white 3-star’s elevation. “Unusual” is a raised eyebrow; more accurately, this never happens. Until now. To replace a 4-star Black general w/ an undistinguished white 3-star ass-kisser.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Yes, it is entirely correct to point out that ICE officers do not have any legal authority to break into somebody’s home unless they get a judicial warrant; which they generally cannot do, because judges only issue warrants for probable cause of crimes, not immigration law violations.

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.

A story as old as time: Republicans inherit a strong economy from Democrats then totally tank it by being utterly reckless, power-hungry and greedy.

Q: How many Democrats does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: Wait, that's not our job. Is it? What leverage do we have? Whoops, weekend's in a few days—adjourned

The whole point was to swear in Tulsi Gabbard, but Trump totally forgot and just walked away without even acknowledging her. What a perfect metaphor for how the intelligence community will treat her and The US.

Just a reminder that Germany was the center of scientific progress until the Nazis suppressed, drove away, or killed all the non-Nazi scientists.

See here's how to do a headline. fortune.com/2025/02/13/e...

She’s right. I mean, imagine if Donald Trump could be extradited to Russia and jailed if Putin didn’t like how Trump was running America. Nobody would think Trump could govern. I recognize this is a very silly hypothetical. Trump would never govern in a way that would disappoint Putin.

This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!

If this is a direct quote, it's one of the most irresponsible and reckless things a SECDEF has ever said

If Democrats don’t wake the fuck up, there’s a really good chance of a Dem version of the tea party movement taking out a few incumbents in primaries next year. The base is *pissed* and wants fighters. A lot of Dem electeds are just sitting on their hands and doing nothing.

This is one reason we're mad at Democrats in Congress. They could—as Republicans have done for decades—gum up the works and make it harder to move the fascist agenda forward. Instead they agree to make it easy. With only a handful of exceptions, every Dem in Congress needs to go. Clean house.🧹

Look I agree that Elon Musk appears to be on a lot of drugs every time he appears in public. That's not very interesting to me. I'm more interested in how many drugs he can do at once. I think he could probably do more than anyone ever. I bet he could take way more than the doctors say is safe.

it’s also incredibly weird that the reporter asks elon musk, who is not the president, if he is staging a hostile takeover of the government, and trump, who is the president, just fucking sits there like he didn’t even hear the question

Yup. If the President can unilaterally stop Congressional appropriations, then we're past any 'guardrails.' Congress is now an advisory body; it does not control the power of the purse.

This is an important point I think. Opposition to Musk isn't based on philosophical or political views. It's between people who know when they're being conned and people who don't. Whether we still have a functioning country after this depends on how many of us fall for the wallet inspector gag

“elon the tech genius doesn’t know what sql is” is just magnificent

there is something kind of interesting about how "executive potentially defying court orders" is immediately legible even to the mainstream press as a constitutional crisis, when everything trump had done up until that was largely shrugged off

this attitude — paperwork is for sissies, real wars are won by Big Strong Men — is traditionally a harbinger of ruinous for defeat for everyone who holds it

Neither Trump nor Musk nor anyone in their orbit knows how to run a legitimate business. It's all scams, so they don't understand why "just bribe them" is bad business. People who run actual businesses understand the value of blaming the lawyers for why you can't do a thing you don't want to do.

A MINOR

It is the position of the administration that a post saying “Free Palestine” or talking about diversity should ruin your life, but a post calling to hate people from India should not. That’s their moral sensibility. Nazi scum.

Reminder that anyone who bought the "conservatives support free speech!" lie is either a liar or too stupid to understand politics.

Trump pardoned a guy wanted for ‘solicitation of a minor’. The QAnon folks were all just projecting.

It is frankly insane to look at what is happening and say "our democracy is strong".

Professional historians survey the historical record and draw conclusions out of the sum total of evidence they survey. In sharp contrast, "originalists" [sic] start with a conclusion they want to justify and then scour the historical record to find some way to prop that up.

eager to find out at the end of the deferred resignation period that the 40k federal workers who supposedly signed up were overcounted by a bit and it turns out to be 200 people who were already 3 days from retirement and who were already taking art classes or working on the great bureaucratic novel
