You can read my near future cli-fi story "Ant Soup"!

Hexagon Magazine Issue 20 / Spring 2025 is now available to all for free on our website. 🐸🧡 Our final issue has original short fiction from Kit Calvert, Silvia Heike, Jordan Hirsch, Uchechukwu Nwaka, and Carol Scheina, with amazing cover art from Elaine Will. Edited by JW Stebner.

Book rec: @thesuiway.bsky.social's The Dragonfly Gambit was on my TBR for too long, and y'all, I just DEVOURED it. So spite-filled and angry-sexy and smart.

Trying to write during the timeouts and halftimes of these #Unrivaled games. Not super successful 😂

Finals edits for my flash fiction chapbook have been approved! No release date yet, but book design is in the works now 🤩 #FourWomenOfSaintPaul

Cover art and TOC for Hexagon’s 20th issue! 🧡 🐸 “Ant Soup” by Jordan Hirsch “To m’Pa, Between Two Planets” by Uchechukwu Nwaka “Seeds of Hope” by Sylvia Heike “What Was Lost Can Be Returned” by Carol Scheina “When We Go, the Frogs Persist” by Kit Calvert Cover art by @elainemwill.bsky.social

Writing day! Mostly going to be spending time with my outline/storyboard to make sure things are tracking. I'm nearing 30% done with this draft (as far as I can estimate), so I want to assess where we're at. #MushroomCity

It me!

Did you publish a book of speculative poetry in 2024? I want to read it! Drop me links folks :)

I have become obsessed with my protagonist's cat, Maple Nut. #MushroomCity

Call for IMMEDIATE action: LCSH is officially proposing changes from "Mexico, Gulf of" to "America, Gulf of" and "Denali" to "Mt. Mckinley": classweb.org/tentative-su... Send feedback to [email protected] by TODAY, Tuesday, February 18, to oppose these changes

Finding a magazine that accepts the kind of story you've written, at the length that you've written it, that's open to submissions, that pays anything, that acts ethically, that actually has readers, and that hasn't rejected the story already is something of a minor miracle.

New Con-Verse up at the @seattlein2025.org blog! Speculate is a verb—so what are some of our favourite speculative poems doing when they speculate?

The weirdest story I've ever written just got accepted to an awesome venue after being rejected 12 times. Write what you love. Believe in your work.

Happy Presidents Day🖖🏿

Americans, if you're looking for a President to celebrate today, may I present to you: President Rillak (cosplayed by me) #StarTrekDiscovery #cosplay

Bit of a rough week creatively, but I added 934 words to #MushroomCity today! It's right around 21,000 words.

Everyone has said @tananarivedue.bsky.social's The Reformatory is a masterpiece, and not a single one of them was lying. My goodness.

I'll be in Miami in a few weeks - looking for recommendations on bookstores, restaurants, and must-do's while I'm there!
