What worriws me (and should worry us all) is we are coming to an end of efforts tech regulation and guardrails. This shift goes against the scientific evidence of the structural causes of tech enabled harms and their acceleration. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

An important lesson from 1920-1945 with reguards to media and propaganda: it is not always about what the influencer is trying to sell of make us see. Rather it is often about redirecting our attention and making us NOT see or focus on the real threat happening in the background.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references. Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

I donated to Wikipedia a couple of times, since it was one of the best resources for research back at uni. If you've ever found good info and sources there and have some money to spare, please give them some. Make the internet a helpful tool, not a hellscape for ad space, data brokers and AI scams.
