Folks are missing this: When Salvadoran VP said to Sen Van Hollen that Trump is paying them to hold migrants, he wrecked WH scam by revealing that of course Bukele would release Abrego Garcia if Trump asked. Talked about this w/ @melissagiragrant.com. Transcript: newrepublic.com/article/1940...

El Salvador says they have NO EVIDENCE Garcia has committed any crimes or is a gang member.US also has no evidence. When asked why Salvador does not release its own national out of jail the answer from El Salvador VP was:because Trump is paying us to keep him in jail. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/16/u...

Senator Chris Van Hollen says he asked the U.S. embassy in El Salvador if they had received orders from Trump to try to facilitate the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia as the Supreme Court instructed, and was told no. @vanhollen.senate.gov

El Salvador says they have NO EVIDENCE Garcia has committed any crimes or is a gang member. The US also has no evidence. When asked why El Salvador does not release its own national out of a jail for terrorists, the answer was: because Trump is paying us to keep him in jail.

I pray you’ll read my latest. We are being challenged as a nation and this is a test we must pass. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

We're in The Bad Place, folks. The existence of an overseas gulag to which you - yes, you personally - can be sent with no recourse marks the end of a whole period of American history. There's no going back after this. Even if these guys are defeated, the new order will have to look much different.

The White House basically gave Boasberg no choice. And unless they start cooperating very quickly, possibly even if they do, they’re looking at criminal contempt like a freight train. That’s going to raise some tricky issues of penalty, but the underlying finding should be secure. What total jerks.

JUDGE BOASBERG: “.. The Constitution does not tolerate willful disobedience of judicial orders. .. To permit such officials to freely ‘annul the judgments of the courts ..’ would make ‘a solemn mockery’ of ‘the constitution itself.’” 🇺🇸 storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

JUST IN: Judge Boasberg finds probable cause to hold administration in contempt of court for defying his order to turn around planes, demands new details in order for officials to “purge” their contempt. Details TK

Dear capitulators, as anyone bullied in school knows, you don't give the bully your lunch money, you give him a punch in the face. (Rhetorically in this case)

pretty sure this also weakens the argument that we cant get folks back

A federal judge on blocked Trump from punishing the law firm Susman Godfrey, calling the retribution campaign he has waged against the nation’s top firms “a shocking abuse of power.” 👏👏

Once upon a time, blatant conflicts of interest, especially involving foreign entities, were something presidents sought to avoid. No previous inhabitant of the White House would have wanted to be seen doing personal business with companies from countries that seek to influence US foreign policy.

Republicans are trying to steal an election in North Carolina. They have been laying the groundwork for five months, and unless the federal courts intervene, they just might succeed. If they do, it could usher in a new era of election subversion in future contests across the country.

They should be more concerned

Brilliantly done @annabower.bsky.social Thank you Hope he survives

John Roberts thought he could delay the Constitutional crisis a little longer, but as in all transactions w/Trump,the Devil always breaks the deal. Trump is daring the Supreme Court to act, knowing that if it declines to sanction his team of kidnappers and felons, they’re off the leash permanently.1/

Yeah Miller is the psychopath into watching injustice unfold & getting off on his cruelty porn. But there plenty of support staff….

“Many people don’t realize how high the American quality of life is because of the competent & stable enforcement of regulations, &if that goes away a lot of lives are at risk,” said Steve Cicala… “This affects airplane safety, baby formula safety, the safety of meat, vegetables and packaged foods…”
