I just can't imagine ever *not* reading entire books with kids. Part of the goal of English class is to fall in love with reading. How do you do that without reading the whole book?

Perfect illustration of the difference between "schooling" and learning. Learning is rooted in experiences. Schooling is about discrete tasks to pass an assessment. Students are starved for experiences. We should give them to them.

my main thought on this is that yes it’s true & also, literacy rates connect directly to the lack of media literacy we are currently seeing in much of our country’s population. Comprehension is such an important part of being able to read!!
