Started playing NES games in the morning since they for the most part can be beaten in one go. "Contra Force" for instance, was easily <1hr Tried out "Bandai Golf: Challenge Pebble Beach" as a timekiller, but was pretty disappointed. I enjoy black box "Golf" more Good excuse to explore the library

2025 Media: 7th Game "Contra Force" Game has a reputation & yet I don't think it's all that bad. The game has some really solid ideas, but performance hurts. Most titles with issues will have moments of slowdown. Here, it's flipped. Could've been great. Shame it's not in the Contra Collection.

Saw "Kidou Senshi Gundam GQuuuuuuX" yesterday. Went in blind pretty much only knowing the main protag's character design and that Char was involved. Really impressed. Love the original series and was making note of the divergences within from the start. Hotly anticipating future episodes~

2025 Media: 6th Game "CABAL" Arcade classic, but played the NES ver.. Controls took getting used to with grenades & firing both being "A". You stay in place by holding it down. Dodge-rolling has invulnerability to it. Quite hard for me at first, but I adjusted over time. 20 screens short & simple

2025 Media: 5th Game "StarTropics" Heard about it a ton as it's a 1st party title that skipped Japan. Dungeons are pretty fun, outside of a few "pick a path" deaths. Secret areas are what really makes it for me. Heavy exploration for items almost feels necessary.

Post a random game in your collection, here on Saturday Octopath Traveler Enjoyed my journey up until endgame. I had characters I didn't use beyond their story segments and had to grind up 50+ levels, which I wasn't a fan of. I'm still happy with it overall. Loved Tressa. Will play 2 someday.

I don't want to let my hopes go crazy just yet, but I'll be so ecstatic if the new Garupan animation project rumor turns out to be true.

Seeing updates on how some scenes for the final Garupan film have already been storyboarded really strikes home how close to the end we are I've been heavily into Garupan & Alicesoft for so long that it's hard to imagine what comes next. Especially since the latter has almost completely slowed down

Post a random game in your collection, here on Saturday Mamatoto I enjoyed the simple strategic gameplay and the perspective switches. I recommend it and believe its fan tl'd too.

For the longest time, I thought the Let's Go! Pokémon games were generation 8 titles. I guess I mentally associated generation 7 with the 3DS. Really enjoyed my time with those games. I'm still hoping we'll get Johto entries at some point.

2025 Media: 4th Game I was finishing up stuff at the beginning of the year, so this is the first game I started this year, I believe. "Arkista's Ring" Simple game where you clear out the monsters of a stage to get a key to proceed to the next. 31 stages repeated 4x getting progressively harder.

The last batch. Truth be told, if I played Ryza already or was into gacha, there'd be a ton more. Thousand: Kula Diamond(The King of Fighters) Orchid Seed: Hachiroku(Maitetsu) Magi Arts: Saya(Saya no Uta) Her base feels rather extravagant, so I'm worried about the cost here.

Kadokawa: Holo Bunny(Spice & Wolf) Sonico Ques Q: Marie Rose(Dead or Alive) She has gotten a number of scales which haven't quite nailed her face. Hope this one does. GSC/Square Enix: Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII) Never wanted to settle for a bust. Hope for more FF&DQ by other companies.

It's a new WonFes so I've just been going over figures announced/updated the last few days that I'm potentially interested in. Ques Q: Marisa(Koumajou Densetsu) Almost thought she got skipped. Definite order. Phat! Company: Hachiroku(Maitetsu) GSC: Lime(Saber Marionette J) Ruri(Ruri Dragon)

I haven't been so excited for a nenderoid announcement since Sheeda!

2025 Media: Manga 8-11 "Emperor to Issho", "Genkaku Picasso", "Gun Blaze West", & "Hi-Fi Cluster". Playing catch-up here once again. Emperor to Issho was a pleasant read, and an unexpected surprise to see that it was fully in color too. The rest were all axed series, or at least it felt that way.

2025 Media: 6th & 7th Manga "Mission: Yozakura Family" ended this week.It had its ups & downs, but has been around since before I started reading the magazine weekly "Gekka Bijin" was a welcome surprise for me. I knew it was Endo's work prior to "SpyxFamily", but it clicked. Simple story well-told

Another new win streak challenge completed in Pokémon TCGP. I absolutely flubbed my last match, but my opponent proceeded to do the same. I'll take it.

I always look forwards to Kei's birthday. Even if I can't go to visit and get her birthday merchandise, there's always at least tons of fan art around that day It's nice seeing people talking about their favorite moments, or why they like the character. You can extend that to any character really.

I'm liking what we've seen officially of the Switch 2 thus far. Really interested in seeing all of their plans for that mouse functionality. It'll be a long wait until April to learn more, but who knows if I'll even be able to procure one at launch?

2025 Gets: I now own an English copy of "Ruri Dragon" vol. 1. Yes, I caved to a sticker that I'll never use. With my JP copy, I'll probably just leave this one, and hopefully "Ruri Dragon" continues to be a success.

As a die-hard long-time Dynasty Warriors fan since the beginning, seeing the reception of Origins is such a delightfully weird experience. So used to these games getting lambasted by critics & just being dismissed as a whole by wider audiences too. Nice to see the new entry being received so well

I had enough survey rewards to get both Erika sets. Wasn't sure if I'd make it in time to collect my favorite trainer, given she was promoted at launch. Glad I did. I don't know who the major Erika fan at The Pokémon Company is, but thank you.

2025 Media: 5th Manga I wanted to like elDLIVE more that I did. Like the prior manga I mentioned, it probably promised too much. The bigger issue is the cast size. It's hard to get me to care about certain characters' fate who only had a couple lines prior or were prominent in just a chapter or two

2025 Media: 4th Manga "Sex & Dungeon" is pretty much what's on the tin. Early ideas about the dungeon showed promise, but much of it goes underexplored for the title's other half. It does what it seeks out to do. There's a LN that apparently goes further so maybe that would've been the better choice

2025 Media: 3rd Manga "Girls & Panzer: Avanti! Anzio Koukou" Reading Momitetsu got me wanting to read more Garupan and so here I am with Anzio's manga. It's pretty fun with lighthearted 4-koma-esque bits mixed with various "battles". Surprising amount of Saunders, but a must-read for Duce fans.
