Unfortunately there will be some who ignore it entirely because it won’t count in Google ranking. There be many more discussions around why your RUM LCP is different than what Google reports via CRUX. The positive side - many educational opportunities.

I’m really interested to see how much of an impact Safari on iPhone has on these RUM metrics. That is an experience we don’t have enough insight on.

Excellent news!

That sounds like a feature :)

My request would be for Safari to add support for SVG favicons - caniuse.com/link-icon-svg - my dream is for a day where favicon.svg will be sufficient to look good for web and app icons.

This is a surprisingly difficult message to get across today. One approach I tried was to encourage thinking in 20 year increments. In the next 20 year cycle, how much time do you want to devote to fixing/speedingup/updating/replacing your front end frame work?

For anyone else who runs into this, it looks like it comes from github.com/woothee/woot... which hasn't been updated in 5 years :|

Big +1 to this. So annoying - too many sites that try to get extra fancy with the login forms.

Wow, that has way more options than I was expecting for a tool like this. Bookmarked.

I'm hoping for a better path - where more people ask the LLM to default to providing native JS and CSS. And even go further than that, adopting a HTML > CSS > JS default for code.

For multiple captures that would definitely be much easier to manage. Did WPT ever update to using that method? Been awhile since I last checked.

The type of metric gaming that I'm totally favor of :)

I’m always surprised when people talk about the huge amounts of money and effort they put into dealing with Y2K ahead of time and then figured it must have been fake when they had no problems after the new year. That is what all the prep work was for.

I've found this to be a good article on wealth inequality and poverty issues - www.cbpp.org/research/pov... - by 1980 what had started as a small difference in the 70s started taking off at ever increasing rates.

Reminds me of the old faithful: spacer.gif - to get things aligned just right

How does that compare to devbox?

Yes, this a big education hurdle
