If you go back and watch tapes of CNN or MSNBC from 25 or 30 years ago, you will be shocked by how unrecognizable cable news was then, with heavily structured news broadcasts, hours devoted to foreign news or tech news, etc. They keep downgrading it to "Jerry Springer: D.C. Edition."

I miss the 90s, back when I was a kid and thought adults had their sh*t together. Nonetheless, here's to smiling through the pain, daring to hope against desperation, and showing kindness to blot out the hatred. For those feeling powerless, you are seen. Don't give up.

I had been cheering on a group of Acadian refugees I had been following for a while in the archival record. I shed a tear when I found out the British discovered their resistance camp.

1920s strikes again...

We don't have the rich folks we used to...

Hey America, naïve question but... is anyone, a-n-y-o-n-e pushing back against the Trump Regime? All I hear are democrats wagging a limp finger in disapproval, vowing change at the "next" election, as if there's going to be one...

Old-timey newspapers keep being blunt:

Lecture fascinante: www.lapresse.ca/dialogue/chr...

A critical point.

Les vraies affaires, toé! Le cultivateur, le samedi 11 février 1905, p. 10 collections.banq.qc.ca/ark:/52327/4... #PriceofEggs #Oeufs #BAnQ

What is the point of Google's A.I. if the first result of its traditional algorithm is way more helpful? Thank you Wikipedia.

#Yeti #AbominableSnowman #cryptozoologie #BAnQ #SNOWDAY

For my American friends:

#MakeNewFranceGreatAgain #WhatEvenIsThisReality #NouvelleFrance #VastEarlyAmerica #PoliticalHumor #NewFrance

Canadians are coming together over the threats of tariffs, using “non-consumption” of American goods as a tool of resistance and proclamation of nationhood and sovereignty. This 250 years after a failed military campaign to try to make Quebec an American state. Lots to unpack here. History matters!

La belle ville de Québec. La ville est magique en hiver. Quebec City is a magical place. Its people are so welcoming. But they do have basic standards.

As a reminder to the current regime at the head of the U.S., Canada said no the first time 250 years ago this year.

Exactly.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little low energy with all the negative news. For once, can my radio not wake me up with Trump's voice saying something so utterly inane and insane.

“[Y]our silence and the silence of all Americans in response to this aggression leaves me disheartened. That silence speaks volumes. I — we — have heard you loud and clear how little our friendship as a country means to you.”

When protestors uttered the slogan “defund the police” the national media had a massive freak out. But now that Trump wants to actually gut the FBI and (it would seem) illegally fire 1000s of people who work there, the same media sees it as a curiosity, a dull bureaucratic matter.

For all the rightful anger most of the world is feeling against Trump, I do want to assure my American friends, family, and colleagues that we think of you and worry for you. We are so sorry you have to bear the brunt of this brute.
