Brilliant record. Three piece (bass, drums, synth) post hardcore, two of these three would later form Camera Obscura (the non-twee San Diego one.) Their album is also brilliant and is apparently getting reissued soon, but don't miss this.

Tonight's viewing: From Darkness to Light, the documentary about Jerry Lewis' unfinished film, The Day the Clown Cried. In and of itself, fascinating story well told, and I'm glad the filmmakers were able to get Jerry on camera to discuss it. The footage of the film itself is a different story.

Tonight's movie: Squaring the Circle: the Story of Hipgnosis. A delightful, pull-no-punches documentary. Anton Corbijn brings great style and emotion to a film that could have easily been one of those "and then THIS happened" style docs.
