We've been long obsessed with "this could have been an email", rather than the more cutting "this didn't need to happen at all".

thank you @grafana.bsky.social for being a logo-level sponsor of zizmor! (and also thank you @mosi.bsky.social and other folks at Grafana who've been sending me patches -- the next few releases are going to have a lot of really great new features)

🏳️‍🌈 Pride began with the bravery to be seen. We honor the courage of those who stood up at Stonewall—and stand with the LGBTQIA+ community today and every day. #PrideMonth

Whelp. So close to hitting a nice work milestone, and then GCP goes down and ruins the party 😭

Saw this spooky contained thriller Hallow Road that was very good. Just don’t watch the trailer because it gives too much away. boxd.it/9YrA0d

Is iOS 26 automatically embossing (is that the name of the effect) third party apps to match the new glass style? There’s the border style, but look at Spotify, Bluesky, Discord, Ruddarr, and Sable. Pretty sure they all look different now. But it’s left other icons alone.

Had fun with Docker yesterday, figuring out how to build as small of an image as possible to run a go binary. Using FROM scratch, got it down to 16.6 MB It's... surprisingly easy, for something with very minimal runtime needs! github.com/joshhunt/pos...

It is undeniable, from my experience, that ChatGPT answers questions that Google cannot. “Find me the website” is supposed to be THE THING that Google does.

Best Star Trek crew, unironically

Sitting in a cocktail bar out of London, subtly wiling the tears off my face as I think about how much I love my doggy

God Github Actions... brain is melting out of my ears.... why...??

Accidentally went to a subtitled screening of Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning tonight, but it was mostly just [Ethan grunts]

White Lotus does such a great job of setting up all these threads from miles away, and even in the last episode you know even less where they end up.

Wait, what?

@flophousepodcast.com seen/heard of The Surfer? 2024, Nicholas Cage. Perhaps the most 3.5 letterboxd stars movie I’ve seen. Might be one for Cagemas (or Cagemas in July as we have in Australia)

It's taken me 4 years of working on support tickets to realise that *I* can file support tickets for services I pay for when I need to help for them. It's pretty neat!

I know UK politics can be hard to understand for people who aren’t familiar with it, if you find it confusing the key thing to understand is that the UK operates under a political system known as “loserocracy” where the country must always be run by some loser

Also annoyed that I watched the trailer for this at the movies and had one particular cast member spoiled :( I don’t even really care that much about these films, but if you’re going to see something, may as well make it as surprising as possible.

It’s kinda fun watching (decent) Marvel movies now without having seen any of them before. Oh, there’s no more Avengers? They’re gone? Okay sure! I guess this Bucky guy is supposed to be… someone? boxd.it/9ClP0x

It’s 2025, Plex has released a so-so app redesign, and it still doesn’t have double-tap to skip forward/back.

I'm trying out Kagi, and possibly the thing that might push me over the edge is its support for custom CSS themes. There's something so... refreshing and old school about them supporting this AND documenting how to disable site features with it! help.kagi.com/kagi/feature...
