Finished The Great Circle and can't say enough nice things about this game. I love that it didn't wear out its welcome. Three large open hub area levels with shorter linear action-based levels in between turns out to be perfect for pacing a game.

Great moment tonight at the MJ Lenderman concert during Joker Lips where the whole crowd cheered for the line "every Catholic knows he could've been Pope"

Chaos Theory is obviously the best Splinter Cell game, but Pandora Tomorrow is super underrated, kinda unfortunately forgotten, and pretty clearly the second best in the series. The levels are just way better and more diverse than the first.

Happy May the 4th! Jump into the Valley now to live your Naboo lifestyle with a new house skin, Padme Amidala's lakeside dress, Anakin Skywalker's Jedi robes, your very own lightsaber, and, of course, an R2-D2 companion. youtu.be/pIlAtflF3Lw?...

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes me think that a Shaw Brothers or Jackie Chan immersive sim could actually be really great.

There's a quote from yours truly in this about working on the game. (Hire Nicole!)

Been looking at and saving the stories I'm most proud of after being laid off, just in case. I'm scared for the future but reminding myself that I did all this work, not Polygon. I hope I can keep doing it. I'd like to share some, starting big: www.polygon.com/23485977/vid...

If you're wondering how things are going over at that other place, I've been getting barraged with ads about Howie Mandel being arrested. This one doesn't even have a real picture of Howie Mandel!

I'm getting more sad about getting laid off. My work means so much to me. I'm a really good reporter. I've been getting scoops every single week lately, while also doing in-depth, award-winning reporting. I have good ideas! New email: [email protected] www.polygon.com/23776996/bar...

Playing both Rosewater and Old Skies and really enjoying both at the moment. If you've got any inclination, buy 'em! Point and click is alive and well.

I'll say more later, but I no longer have a job. I'm looking for work, as are *so* many of my amazing colleagues. I have lots of ideas and things I'd like to write. I'm really in shock.

I'm enjoying The Pitt a lot, but every now and then it has a scene or line of dialogue that feel incongruously not-as-good as the rest of the writing and I don't know if it's a thing of somebody getting a note to make something more obvious or just not trusting the audience to get something or what.

This week we released our free Wonderland Whimsy update, with the Alice in Wonderland realm, Garden of Whimsy Star Path, lots of highly requested QoL, & our first Star Wars items... including R2-D2! It's a great time to jump into Disney Dreamlight Valley. disneydreamlightvalley.com/news/Wonderl...

This show sucks and has way less Noah Wylie than I was led to believe

Avowed, Atomfall, The Great Circle, Outer Worlds 2 still to come... it's a great year for fans of first person RPGs with manageable play lengths. I might actually be able to finish all four.

Laat chance to nominate, today. Who has stood out for you? Gone the extra mile? Lifted you up? Been an example? Help make someone know what they've done for the industry. gamedevheroes.co/nominations-...

I'll eventually talk about something else other than Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I promise, but another thing I wanted to observe about this game is its absolutely masterful control of tone. Combat is the perfect example. Look at how it always stays perfectly Indiana Jones.

The latest free update for Disney Dreamlight Valley will add a new Alice in Wonderland Realm and let players unlock Alice, the Cheshire Cat and the ability to 'uncraft' items. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/disney-...

If I'm really digging The Great Circle, is it worth it to go back and play MachineGames' Wolfenstein games?

Something I'm thinking about a lot as I play Indiana Jones is how perfectly the limitations on player agency overlap with the fantasy of being Indiana Jones. Like, of course I can't pull out my gun and start blasting people in the Vatican, or use my whip on a nun. Indy wouldn't do those things.

Great article and this is 100% what feels special about Great Circle to me. You can feel decades of learnings in play about how to make this kind of game. www.eurogamer.net/as-layoffs-c...
