Despite the lack of big storms lately, this month has had some pretty banger skiing conditions. Thanks arctic outflow for giving us some Rockies-like cold smoke pow on the coast, it was much appreciated.

Why are people giving their data to a foreign company that might do unethical things with it? They should give their data to an American company that has a proven track of doing unethical things with it.

Skiing on New Years Day

🎄

You may not like it but this is what optimal winter transportation looks like

Painted bike lanes < separated bike lanes < quiet bike path down by the river Also shout out to the couple bike commuting on a tandem, truly the peak form of transportation.

Nothing like being the first person to put squiggles into this blank canvas.

After skiing in Whistler yesterday we couldn't get back home. So might as well go back up for another day.

This was very worth getting cut off from Vancouver by a landslide today.

A story in two parts. I did get my wish of getting to Whistler before the highway got blocked at least.

This was exactly me when I was 12. Not that I didn't enjoy hiking, I did! But I also had a roller coaster park that needed to be attended to.

I finally made a video of my experience hiking the John Muir Trail last year. It's too long for Blue Sky so here's a Reddit link of it instead. www.reddit.com/r/hiking/s/R...

Whistler views like these never get old.

Yesterday at Whistler wasn't quite the sleeper pow day that I hoped. The crowds are starting to come back and there was a noticable ice crust under the pow from 1800m elevation down. But there was still some lovely skiing to be found up in the alpine.

Beauty day for a ride around Stanley Park but definitely one where some extra layers were required. It was brisk!

Day 4 - Very little new snow this week but with a short walk we were able to find some leftover pow that no one had skied yet. Better than I expected. Another reminder that it never hurts to go for a little walk and see if there's anything interesting.

Day 3 - first after work night ski of the season this past Thursday. Incredibly good conditions for November in the North Shore. Only a few runs open but just amazing to be out in the mountains.

It's hard to pick a favorite view in Yosemite but the top of Clouds Rest might just be it. Looking down on Yosemite Valley 6000 feet below, granite cathedrals everywhere and the many tall Sierra peaks to the east. It's hard to find a more dramatic views anywhere.

Day 2 of the ski season is in the books. Not too shabby for November 23.

So nice to be back

This afternoon was a lot more beautiful day out on the North Shore than I expected. I'm loving all the snow building up in the mountains but it was nice to get a little break from the rain.
