Yeah, it's embarrassing to say that you (I) like games with interactive romance in them, so you'd never get good data in a self reported survey, but it is known people love it. BG3 was relentlessly horny and everyone ate. it. up.

some homework

What I look like when I'm on a loading screen

my guy @diegoarguello.bsky.social has a really fun piece about stop motion games www.theverge.com/games/607154...

A screenshot of that sneak peek of my current project since bsky video compression go brrrrr #devlog #gamedev

Oh yeah, I'm on to something #gamedev #devlog #indiegames

I like to start my workdays by writing out my minimum tasks completed for the day. Helps a lot with feeling good about progress and staying organized. I took a 3-day break from my current project and realized what I badly needed to do today. #gamedev #devlog #indiegames

a gentle reminder that time passes anyway. in four years (if we’re all still here) we’ll still be here. so do the thing. learn blender. go back to school. chase your dreams. time passes anyway.

For new users to bluesky - there is an algorithmic feed if you want to use it - the discover feed But you have control over it. I am labeled* as a game dev and now often other devs I'm not following are pulled in the discover feed Another way to impact it is add some feeds that are of interest

Working on a file select screen. No real lighting here, its all hand painted vertex color.

Nevermind, I just fixed it myself using some (incorrect) old documents from 2008 'cause I'm nasty like that.

I'd love some help here 🙏 Having a weird issue with Height maps in Godot On most meshes, the face that's pointed towards the +Z Axis has this issue Might be related to the binormal. Flipping the binormal will fix it on the problem face but mess it up on other faces #gamedev #godot #blender

Here it is from a steeper angle that makes it easier to appreciate the difference my displacement maps make. #gamedev #indiegames #devlog

On the left is my shader 2 days ago. On the right is it now with the displacement mapping I added today. Both halves are just a plane so performance cost is nice and low. Really, really pleased with the result! #gamedev #indiegames #devlog

Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

new level coming along

AAA studios are like "nobody will buy a big game" and then dont make very big interesting systems driven games and instead make them all polish and go "why is noone buying my glitzy stuff that you watch like a movie it must be the market that is wrong"

Another sneak peek of a cutscene I am working on. You encounter a new enemy type for the first time. Pretty much my version of a boomer. Explode on death and does AOE damage. #indiegame #indiegamedev #lowpoly #PSX

Working on some custom shaders and materials. It's always a struggle trying to find a new art style but I feel like I'm on to something here. #gamedev #devlog #indiegames
