The American Fascist Party aren’t even bothering to pretend to care about whether citizens suffer or die at this point, much less non-citizens and people abroad suffering and dying because of their cuts to humanitarian aid. They’ve shed all pretence of concern for anyone outside the ultra-wealthy.

As I and many other economists have repeatedly warned, many of the worst impacts of the Trump regime’s farcical, corrupt, and unconstitutional tariff scheme are irrevocable. This unprecedented fall in imports in April is only a relatively short-term consequence compared to what is to come.

The Trump regime has shown it isn’t actually going after criminals, as that would be too difficult, costly, and risky. And there aren’t enough “criminal immigrants” to even remotely reach their promised “mass deportation” goals. It continues to go after the soft targets: law abiding immigrants.

BLOOMBERG: Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor dissented, saying the court “undervalues the devastating consequences of allowing the government to precipitously upend the lives and livelihoods of nearly half a million noncitizens while their legal claims are pending.”

This is government-executed torture, of children no less. It’s inhuman cruelty in line with horrific acts undertaken by the worst regimes in modern history. No wonder the Trump regime is attacking the legitimacy of the ICC and human rights NGOs—it knows it’s committing crimes against humanity.

Absolute barbarism reminiscent of the worst regimes in modern history.

The AI is rebelling.

We are seeing truly unprecedented levels of corruption from the Trump regime. Its complete capture of the SEC emboldens it to continually manipulate US (and global) markets, allowing backers to profit from every move, up and down. They know there will be no investigations and no consequences.

It’ll be interesting to see how Oklahoma’s far-right Department of Education and Supreme Court navigate the competing narratives of “parent choice in education” and “indoctrinating every child believing the Big Lie is true”. I am sure they’ll find a (brazenly inconsistent and unconstitutional) way.

We must ask ourselves: What do we want out of the June 14th protest? How do we use the momentum to build into a revolution? 🧵 As Michael Albert shares, "...resistance is effective only if it enhances the likelihood of some future desired outcome"

BREAKING: The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has temporarily paused enforcement of USCIT’s injunction on most of the Trump regime’s tariff scheme pending review of (now consolidated) appeals. Let the next round of (unconstitutional and destructive) judicial and economic games begin.

REPORTER: [question] LEAVITT: [Lie, lie, spin, divert, lie, spin, obfuscate, brownose]

It’s difficult to have sympathy for someone that: A) Chose to take a position of immense power B) Is using that power to commit unconstitutional, heinous acts against fellow humans C) Is committing these acts on behalf of a wannabe fascist dictator D) Supports that wannabe fascist dictators’ ideals

Elon Musk is Lucy. Everyone believing his claims that he is stepping away from directly and aggressively influencing the Trump regime’s daily operations is Charlie Brown.

And, on cue, discount Goebbels weighs in with his fascist framing of the constitutional separation of powers. Apparently it’s only a coup if it’s carried out in the Judiciaire region of France. Otherwise it’s just sparkling authoritarian overreach.

CONTEXT: The Trump regime—in similar fashion to their unconstitutional invocation of the Alien Enemies Act—used the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA) to impose its “emergency” tariff schemes. This USCIT ruling effectively blocks all tariffs levied under the guise of IEEPA.

MAJOR REBUKE: The U.S. Court of International Trade has ruled that the IEEPA does not confer to the Trump regime “such unbounded authority” to unilaterally impose tariffs and “sets aside the challenged tariffs imposed thereunder." They have essentially indicated only Congress can levy tariffs.

I wholeheartedly support the Tesla investors demanding that Elon Musk work 40 hrs/wk at the company. As long as Musk remains at the helm, I want to see every one of his enterprises crash and burn. And I can’t think of a better way of making that happen than Musk spending more time “managing” them.

My partner made this for me years and years ago to commentate our mutual love for The West Wing and it hangs over my desk.

Which TV series have you watched more than once or countless multiples of times?

REMINDER: In February, the Trump regime asked the Romanian government to lift a travel ban on the Tate brothers and arranged for them to return to the US—presumably because members and supporters of the regime were big fans—only for them to flee back to Romania a month later. Only the best people.

For the Blackadder fans among us, Trump has gone full Baldrick.

TAPPER: This nonsensical exchange between Trump and a reporter is exactly why we should be completely focused on Biden’s mental fitness during his presidency. That is the most pressing issue today. Buy my book to learn more. Buy my book. Please buy my book. For the love of god, please buy my book.

Marco Rubio: Free speech is essential to the American way of life. That’s why we’ll no longer grant visas to any foreign person complicit in censoring Americans. Also Marco Rubio: We’re revoking/denying visas—and disappearing US residents—for their speech (which we don’t like).

Let me get this straight… Target drops their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and immediately faces a massive consumer boycott, leading to significant revenue loss and structural upheaval. And their plan to right the ship is to sack the executives that warned them this would happen?

From exposing Watergate—which lead to the second most corrupt president in modern US history resigning in disgrace—to minimising every [insert scandal name]-gate and shilling for the most corrupt president in modern US history. The Washington Post: “We’re Making Sure Democracy Dies In Darkness”

Bezos is clearing out anyone that remembers that the Washington Post wasn’t always merely his personal technofascist blog.

Curtis Yarvin is the Jordan Peterson of David Dukes.

No IDs. No badges. No uniforms. No insignia. Only masked men abducting people attempting to follow the law. I am not even convinced that all of these men are DHS agents. The masked group look more like vigilantes. This is the American Gestapo, operating across the US. This is fascism.

SpaceX had the gall to call it another “rapid unscheduled disassembly”, seemingly to troll the millions of tax payers that just saw their Medicaid benefits burn up in Earth’s atmosphere.

The Trump regime sounds more and more communist by the day.
