NEW: In a SCATHING decision, Judge Briones of the Western District of Texas absolutely SAVAGED the government over this case, tearing to shreds ICE’s hearsay “evidence” that this husband and wife were in Tren de Aragua as “completely and wholly unsubstantiated” — and ordered their immediate release!

NEW: A federal judge raised alarm Friday that the Trump administration appeared to have deported a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras with "no meaningful process" — even as her father was fighting to keep her in the country. Details w/ @joshgerstein.bsky.social www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

One of the primary themes that is emerging from Trump's first 90 days is that MAGA is very determined to threaten and frighten any and all Americans who disagree with them. Those who disagree present a threat that they're using the full force of the federal government to suppress & crush.

HAPPENING NOW: Hundreds of protesters have now gathered outside a federal courthouse in downtown Milwaukee to support Judge Hannah Dugan

Top notch Leopards/faces moment here from the managing director of Thiel Capital and the person who coined the term "Intellectual Dark Web." Yeah, so weird how much antisemitism there is on Musk's platform...real head scratcher there, my dude.

In the coming days you’ll see headlines like, “ICE Can Now Come Into Your House Without a Warrant.” They will be false. Trump’s Attorney General, who once accepted a bribe from him when she was FL AG, instructed her agents to ignore the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution. That’s the story.

“Fire Devil” is a machine translation of the German word for “firebug”—an arsonist.

A right-wing judge’s attorney would flame the DOJ for weaponizing the justice system even if they’d actually committed a crime and it was all on tape.

I have gotten confirmation from sources inside the Coast Guard that this is in fact true and happened in Key West. ICE went into military housing and took the spouse of a USCG member who is currently out to sea.

Indiana state legislature just staged a hostile takeover of IU, functionally eliminating tenure, promising to close smaller (hum) majors, taking over the IU board, and cutting the IU budget. This is so bleak

If you followed Trump’s first term polling then you aren’t at all surprised to see these brutal numbers at the end of 100 days.

A couple years ago the people banning books were like "we're not banning books we're just removing them from schools, you can still get them elsewhere" and now here we are

Interesting how many pundits who were very well aware of how thermostatic public opinion negatively impacted Biden, especially on immigration, “forgot” that the temperature controls move in both directions

Official NOAA account is comprised by bootlickers.

News: Two Scotland Yard detectives who investigated Murdoch tabloids say given new evidence they would have considered Will Lewis a criminal suspect in covering up wrongdoing there - via @guardian Lewis currently chief executive & publisher of WaPo www.theguardian.com/media/2025/a...

Would be so enjoying how China is utterly dog-walking the President if economic ruin for the rest of us was not also a consequence.

Performative public lying is a hallmark of far right authoritarian parties

Projected deaths from cessation of USAID PEPFAR funding www.thelancet.com/journals/ecl... a 90-day freeze is expected to result in ~60,000 excess deaths

Eat yer heart out, Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact

Maddow: 88% of the country says no, no, he cannot defy a supreme court ruling. Only 9% say yes he can. And you know, it's not the same thing. But I should mention that 9% is also the proportion of Americans who told yougov this week that they have a favorable view of the black plague

Crazy. Also, paging the men’s fashion guy. What is up with that wingnut’s outfit?

Today I went to a box store and established a Strategic Coffee Reserve in my closet.

Whether Judge Dugan did anything inappropriate depends on a bunch of details we don't know, but it's also sort of beside the point. The normal way to handle this would be a referral to a judicial conduct board, not sending a bunch of goons to physically arrest her & then publicly crowing about it.

One less syllable than “white nationalists” so points for parsimony at least.

Unclear to me why A Republican is going to prison for fraud in Trump's America. Must be some personal thing.

One thing that leaps out here: State courthouse security officers, prosecutors, and a "Victim Witness Specialist" all ratted out Judge Dugan to federal agents. The criminal complaint rests largely on their accusations about her conduct.

I dont think there’s any justification for repeating this regime’s “allegations” in headlines. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

What has happened to our Department of Justice under Pam Bondi is beyond *me*.

Obviously if Elon Musk gained the amount of power he enjoys in the manner that he did in Russia, everyone would agree that the label fits. But having said that, I don’t find these seemingly endless semantic arguments useful. It’s Trumpism—neo-fascism supported by shameless and open grifting.

What I’ve heard is that US Attorney’s Offices were being overwhelmed with TRO filings and they literally could not staff the cases bc a lot of line attorneys refused to take them
