“I think this highlights, now more than ever, why we need transparency, accountability and the depoliticization of all institutions, be it post-secondary institutions or police forces, that are attached to the UCP,” @michaeljanz.bsky.social

I keep wanting to go back and Watch handmaids tale, but I think it hits too close to home now. Might be one I revisit in four years if it doesn’t completely come to fruition.

Fake news. Many extremely reasonable and intelligent Canadians I know are talking about developing nukes. These same people would never in a million years have considered this 37 days ago.

Note here that Musk is now literally assigning himself new contracts based on the use of his DOGE wrecking crew and the associated micro-bros. this isn't a "conflict of interest". it's just handing yourself federal money www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/b...

I feared after the election, and then actually predicted based on the wording of the military trans EO, that they'd go after trans civilians having security clearances, or even trans federal employment at all. Next stage, now underway.

Wow. Peter Guthrie pulling no punches in his resignation letter as Infrastructure Minister. #yeg #yyc #ableg

Guess the democrats aren’t done gaslighting their own best leaders.

This is going to throw a wrench at the people still writing that Canada shouldn’t see the US as an enemy or threat.

Here comes the procurement via nepotism. Why does seem so familiar like it is happening here in Alberta too

Going to be a long four years. Wonder how long until this spreads to other districts in various forms.

Finally some good news in season two of Andor to distract from real life. Too bad we have to wait until April. That is a LONG time relatively speaking.

I wonder where military procurement fits into Canada’s retaliatory strategy against the impending tariffs and when that will enter the public discourse? Perhaps we will get another extension when we promise to do things we are already doing again.

Everyday I think maybe this will be the day that nothing wild happens in the states yet everyday since Trump took office I have been proven wrong. It makes you wonder what wild shenanigans we will see over the coming months and years.

I don’t know how cbc effed up the 51st state cross country thing so poorly. I just read another cbc article that summarized everything happening so succinctly. All they needed to say is he is threatening our sovereignty and integrity like this article does. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Finally at normal bg levels again after spending the majority of the day high. Stressing about facism and current events is always made worse when diabetes is up shits creek too.

Watching the events unfold in the us is fascinating to me. I have almost no ability to do anything about it but it will have future direct impacts on Canada. I can’t help feel like democrats have sidelined and gaslit their best communicators and organizers for years. Maybe America will turn a page..
