Damian was my councillor. We sometimes disagreed politically but I’ve never doubted his commitment to public service. This is a warm & generous piece and I recommend it to councillors everywhere of all parties, starting their new roles. Chapeau @damohaywood.bsky.social & enjoy your ‘retirement’.

New to me top tier snacks from the new shop on Cricket Road. Give them a try, local peeps.

I am loving the out break of cross party consensus and community action in this thread. More like this pls. 💪👌

Oh look! Just what every political campaigner wants just after polling day- more leaflets! Does anyone want to deliver some? Oh, BTW, Magdalen Road Food Festival is on 7 June.. so come!

Well, I might be election fit but I am absolutely not allotment fit any more. Spent the day moving soil. So broken. And THE WEEDS!!!! Can we pls not have elections in planting season? #allotmentlife

Electoral mood #hope #activetravel

I have been a 🔶 campaigner for nearly 10 years. Overnight success comes slowly. From people who delivered leaflets for years while others laughed at you. Anyway, it’s nice to see some good results for a change.

My beautiful yet funny moody cat has cancer. I find it heartening that since he’s got sick he has become affectionate. He’s on my lap now, purring like a tractor and begging for fusses. I hope it helps him.

This is zero surprise to anyone in Headington. Roz knows, and is known by everyone, and lives and breathes the community. It was a pleasure to work on her campaign, this is a well deserved win. Congrats @rozsmith.bsky.social and massive thanks to the team who helped. 🧡

#bikesatpollingstations Tagging @oxfordclarion.bsky.social Brisk start in Bartlemas.

I love this. Sit outside the Donnie Arms any time and you will see al of humanity walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling and occasionally driving courteously through . Neighbours having chats in the street. Doggos being fed treats while their owners have a sunny pint. LtNs are for everyone. 😍

Out out for the very excellent @katherinesmiles.bsky.social and John Howson. Feet hurt now. 🔶

Open up some roads, build another lane. That'll fix it.. Leaving aside the farcial idiocies of this plan, 100k new homes are going to be built in Oxon in the next decade and most will work in Oxford. Polices must move traffic off the roads. There is literally not enough space. FIN.

If cats could vote they’d vote for the amazing and incredibly hardworking @rozsmith.bsky.social Special lady. Time to get some steps in 😍🔶💪

I’m an active travel campaigner and have now read the Hansard record of the debate. I am INCREDIBLY encouraged by the cross party support on this crucial issue especially the govt support. There is hope. Keep going folks! And huge thanks to @ollyglover.bsky.social for flying the flag. 🚲🚶👩‍🦽‍➡️🛴🫏😍👌💪🌎

Introducing peak Lib Dem shoes bought secondhand from a lady in Amsterdam, shipped to Vienna (because Brexit) where I was on holiday then carried home by train in my backpack (because low carbon). I love them. (Thank heaven they fit).

Have you SEEN the new soft play in the Leys? TINY COVERED MARKET! BRIDGE OF SIGHS! 😍 I hate soft play but I might make an exception. Well done @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social and everyone involved. SUPER JOB. (ahem now build tiny Bodleian out of wood somewhere in the city centre pls and thank you)

Dare to dream!

Which idiot booked a gym slot at ‘keen o clock’ then forgot about daylight savings?!

Been canvassing. 👌😂

Post a warning (don’t forget alt text) spotted once upon a time in Colorado.

I have reached peak allotment. Buying biochar and calcified seaweed, and knowing what it’s for. What happened to my life?

I am late to the party but massive hat tip to @seatsixtyone.bsky.social whose site has saved my bacon after my Easter nightjet was cancelled and I needed to find alternative ways to trek across europe with a SEND kid. I THINK we are now sorted. Eeek.

Proud of Oxon county council right now. When presented with evidence, residents want a cleaner, greener more people focused city. And they’ve been fighting to deliver it since they were elected. #keepcalmandcarryon

Just remembered one of my fave photos: 3 local politicians (me Green, one Lib Dem and one Labour) standing at our missing LTN bollards in Oxford and protecting the school run from motor traffic (nursery less than 100m away).

I feel like we may have moved the debate to ‘where’ not ‘if’. Now, perhaps, ‘when’ ?

Really enjoyed this leader from @theoxfordmail.bsky.social on the resident-led campaign for a city centre playground. As they say "the playground would have an enormous impact on tourism, businesses, and the overall atmosphere and vibrancy of the city". www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2500206...
