My dad keeps pulling a “you’ll understand when you pay taxes” assuming I’m going to become more right wing with age, but my spouse and I made money and we pay a lot of taxes. I’m cool with it. A decade ago I needed Medicaid and now I don’t and I’m happy to pay it forward. We live in a society.
