Getting Started

Hello new followers! Chances are, you found me via one of the various ‘starter packs’ for scholars dealing with Hebrew Bible and Early/Medieval Judaism. A little about me: I’ve just recently defended my PhD on the Targums (Aramaic translations of the Hebrew Bible).

Folks, another starter pack - this one devoted to scholars of Early Judaism. (If you are a PhD student or have a PhD in the field and want to be included let me know.)

Yesterday I successfully defended my PhD at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the KU Leuven, titled "The Medieval European Liturgical Targum". Thank you to all who have contributed to this work, especially my promotor Prof. Hector Patmore, and co-promotor Prof. Pierre Van Hecke. 🎓

Folks, if you are interested in biblical studies (broadly construed) on Bluesky, I've created a starter pack. It's *non-comprehensive* (you can only add 150 accounts), so apologies to anyone left off! go.bsky.app/PKHv8Ru

Very honored to have contributed to this beautiful volume! Our chapter, ‘Aramaic from Antiquity to the Middle Ages’, explores the Bodleian Libraries’s impressive collection of Aramaic manuscripts. bodleianshop.co.uk/products/jew...

I wrote a small piece for KU Leuven's 'Theology Research News' on an interesting conflation of two Talmudic traditions concerning dry bones in medieval Jewish prayerbooks. Enjoy!

Happy to share that my article 'The Liturgical Targum to Pesach' has been published in Aramaic Studies (Brill). In it, I explore the relationship between the units of Targum in liturgical manuscripts and other ‘known’ Targums (e.g. Onqelos, Neofiti, ...). DM for more info. brill.com/view/journal...

Hello bluesky, if you are interested in textual criticism, digital humanities, the Hebrew Bible and the Aramaic Targums, you’re in the right place! I also sometimes post about my other hobbies, such as dog training, beekeeping and gaming. Nice to meet you all! 👋
