Still not much idea what I'm doing here, an ageing IT dunce. A tough old bird, so I'm told. #ActuallyADHD at age 56. Mourning the life I could have had. Probably autistic too. #MadTwitter refugee Lest we forget VE80

7.15pm, still hot 22C inside, broad daylight out & I'm in bed shattered, achy & glowing, too tired to sit up after a day weeding at community allotment in 25C & 4 short dog walks. I'll probably have to get up 3am to take the dog out for a wee but too tired to care right now. 1/2

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work. The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty. I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the gov’t to rethink

Today, the Covid Inquiry heard how Boris Johnson lied to the British public about the UK's ability to Test & Trace. Those in power knew that a lack of planning and underinvestment had left the country unprepared, and they tried to cover it up. Our loved ones paid the price.

Born abroad to British parents due to father being military & UK citizen from birth with a UK birth cert, now feeling worried & scared for not being born in UK. I've ordered extra copies of birth cert, its all I have to prove I'm British. But now I feeling I dont belong here. Dont belong anywhere.

“Despite all of these arrivals there are still 131,000 vacancies in care. The sector say there is no way they can fill these jobs with British workers” The care sector is already on its knees and the government knows it

We have a desperate shortage of care workers. This has a catastrophic effect on the NHS too. Labour’s decision to close the care worker visa scheme for overseas recruitment is appalling, kneejerk politics that - yet again - will penalise the most vulnerable. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

It's been reported that the total of recently elected Reform councillors who have now resigned has reached 22. Serving military personnel & council employees are ineligible to stand for office. Each by election will cost taxpayers £10,000; I think the failed councillors should pay instead.

Women in the North miss out on £158m in wages every week compared to rest of England. They work more hours for less pay, have shorter lives, more likely to be out of work due to long-term sickness. Negative outcomes for women affect child welfare, pensioner poverty. Levelling up is a fiction.

Disability benefit cuts impossible to support, 42 Labour MPs tell Starmer. Defend the poor, old, sick, disabled. Spread the rebellion. Meet your MP face-to-face. Tell him/her to vote against the cuts. We are all one accident/illness away from needing benefits. Tax the rich. End profiteering.

Widow, 72, charged £330 by British Gas HomeCare to tighten leaky tap. People fleeced everyday by corporations and their execs living in leafy suburbs - just look at energy, water, rail, mail, banking, insurance, transport, internet. Politicians punish the poor, old, sick and disabled.

Hmm, maybe not partnering up with private healthcare providers thus donating tax payer money to shareholders and hedge funds rather than services might be a good idea 🤷‍♀️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

NHS planning to cut doctors/nurses jobs, maternity and A&E services to meet the govt's “eye watering” NHS savings. Cuts will force more people to go private. Healthcare must come before fiscal rules. Private firms milking 30%-40% profit from NHS contracts. End privatisation. Tax the rich.

Unsurprisingly British Gas owner suffers shareholder rebellion over CEO pay packet which rose 29% last year to £1.1m to take his total pay packet, including bonuses & share-related pay, to £4.3m for the year. All whilst customers struggled with Record Debt! www.theguardian.com/business/202...

NHS maternal mental health services slash funding. Unaddressed perinatal mental illness affects the whole family, costs UK economy £8.1bn a year Suicide is the major cause of death for women from six weeks to 12 months after birth. Put people B4 fiscal rules.

43% of England universities heading to bankruptcy. Staff sacked, depts closed, leading academics leaving. Major exporter disabled by govt cuts, freeze on fees (most European countries don't charge), limits on foreign students. Crisis manufactured by govts. What chance of rebuilding economy?

Hi Lancashire County Council, your new Reform UK councillor for Accrington North, Joel Tetlow is continuing to post content on social media like this. Posted yesterday under the banner of ‘Councillor’. It clearly breaches multiple parts of your Councillor Code of Conduct.
