Why are horse names so fucking weird?

Read this in Ron Howard’s Arrested Development narrator voice.

Busy stressful day made brighter by actual good THFC news! #coys

I’ve never understood why Americans don’t want the same kinds of environments they love when they travel, at home.

After that ABC interview I’m surprised* all the national media are not running with “Trump, with slurred speed, confuses photoshop with reality” stories, but I guess only blue dementia is newsworthy. *not actually surprised.

Bottlenecks? It’s the same problem as regular traffic: the cars! Supercommuting is more a land use issue though. Not enough affordable housing: it’s all drive ‘til you qualify.

I don’t want Canada to be the 51st state but I’d love California to become the 11th province.

I’m getting a little tired of this June Gloom in April. Get it together SoCal.

This is how it feels seeing Syril and Dedre in Andor

Everyone freaked out when dozens of trees were sawed in half in downtown, including Mayor Karen Bass, who said she was "making plans to quickly replace these damaged trees." But the next day she revealed a budget that took a chainsaw to the city's urban forestry department

Amazing work to get this through a hostile housing committee. Local government next!

Our legislation to allow more housing near high-quality public transit just passed the Senate Housing Committee. It was hard fought & I’m so grateful to my colleagues. Addressing our housing shortage & the climate crisis means more housing density near transit. SB 79 will allow that to happen.

If your state senator sits on the Senate Housing Committee, I implore you to give their office a call on Monday to tell them you support SB 79 (transit-oriented upzoning within 1/2 mile of rail and BRT stops). shou.senate.ca.gov/members#top

The word is horrible but there’s still the American Cinemateque! LFG!

The is a really great movie. The Documentary Now parody is also pitch perfect.

Me: hey, driver, you started merging into the bike lane and almost killed me them: but I had my turn signal on! (They didn’t)

Some stats from 100 days in on congestion pricing: - Complaints about car-honking are down 70% - The Holland Tunnel has 65% fewer delays at rush hour; time to get thru it is down 48% - 6 million fewer cars - Half as many traffic-related injuries - 1.5 million more visitors to BIDs year over year

my buddy created this map of safe bike routes in LA and i help her update it. if there are any bike routes you use that meet ALL THE RULES included on the right tab, reply here and let me know so i can check them out and add them. www.safebikeroutes.com/la

"Cyclists are always running stop signs!" Yes they make no sense for us, legalize treating them as yields

I’d move on if I could only remember/all that it takes is just an act of surrender” youtu.be/i3fdrEthXkE

Sad news. Loved their decidedly retro sound and her voice in particular.

The way this still hits 93 years later

With the warmer weather, the views on my bike ride hike from UCLA via West Hollywood has really, uh, improved.

Dude, there’s still a new 10% tariff on Canada and Mexico

Putting aside debates about macroeconomics for a moment In a way, everything you need to know about why tariffs and why not is right here in this trading chart from this afternoon.

The simple explanation for all this insanity is that Trump and his friends are rigging the market to make themselves rich. They're putting the global economy on thin ice and tanking your 401k to do it, but someone with inside info is getting very, very rich from it.

markets soar as investors realize that mommy didn't actually disappear, she was just hiding behind her hands
