That’s cool you have five kids! My wife and I have six… not a lot of hackers out there with big families! Merry Christmas!

I’ll have to figure that out. I own by jsyversen.com and cyber-son.com (along with some startup domains) Any tips, is it pretty straightforward?

I stuck around and watched the ending. Tough way to end the season! You guys missed having Alex out there, he’s a key player

I like him as a person. Was disappointed in their performance the last few years. How much of that do you attribute to him personally versus just bad/market timing, or Intel being too big a ship to turn quickly? Elon kind of spoils our perspective on what’s possible to do quickly these days…

I miss those days! Ever since we bought this current house we have a nice artificial tree. But for 20 years we cut a tree every season, great family tradition. I loved the smell of fresh pine.

I’ve always believed that. A former coworker of mine refused help and told me “he likes to learn things the hard way”. I’ve always been a fan of learning from others (mistakes or good things!) as it seemed much faster/more efficient. And some mistakes aren’t recoverable!

It’s funny, X gets a bad rap here on Bluesky about spam and yet here we are. One comment and it’s that. It’s a problem on any open platform with weak authentication.
Regarding your comment, I’d love to know myself. Feels like duplex wouldn’t be that impactful by itself

I got on here because I love the idea of choosing your own algorithm and a truly decentralized platform. And in the early days Twitter was great when it was mostly tech people. But Bluesky hasn’t hit critical mass yet.

Yup, agreed. Other than people platforms for virtue signaling, it’s hard to leave Twitter. I was there when it was left leaning, deplatforming people and censoring topics, but I dealt with it because there were good people/content. And now it’s doing the same in reverse but I still stay.

What’s next for you?
TOB has built a great team of sharp folks doing cool work, not surprising the success they’ve had as a result

I saw this on Twitter/X and almost added its unique to X, but I saw @deedydas.bsky.social is here on Bsky too so I shared as well and followed! Hoping to find more good folks on here outside just the hacker/cyber community. Haven’t found many VCs/tech founders yet

What’s your reasoning for stopping posting on them? Can you share how you automated it?

Yeah I was talking about what it looked like before I followed anyone. I started just poking around. Shockingly bad!
Found some cyber folks (with difficulty) and followed them and their followers and it’s improved a ton.
Still exclusively cyber though, other communities are mostly empty.

Would love to hear how that works. With people splintering into echo-chamber platforms I don’t want to have to choose one but also don’t want to manually curate each one
