#wildflowerhour The first ever blackthorn flower on my four year old mixed native hedge.

I’m just going to leave this here. 😌

Remember: a vote for Nigel Farage is a vote for Donald Trump, who has just humiliated the true leader of the free world, President Zelensky

Slava Ukraini.

Ooh, lucky you! An Avocet just stepped into your scroll! 😍

@kemibadenoch I'm an ordinary person in the UK. My western values (whatever that means) are, as far as I'm aware, perfectly intact. I'm free to be who I want to be, think how I want to think, say what I want to say and do what I want to do as long as it's all within the law.

The most unpatriotic members of any society are the far right. They will always align with foreign interests against the interests of their own nations. They will always undermine national institutions and national values in pursuit of their own interests. When they pose as patriots, they lie.

Did you hear about these 20 government actions? No? That’s the problem. The media aren’t telling you what’s happening. @stephenmcnair.bsky.social reports

"Research by scientists from the RSPB and University of Cambridge... ...has found that UK solar farms managed for nature could benefit birds, including threatened species like Corn Buntings, Greenfinches, Yellowhammers, and Linnets." πŸ’š

I've finally discovered, at the age of 61, that my true passion in life isn't gardening it's nature. Native plants, birds, insects, fungus, moss, soil, amphibians, mammals and everything else in all it's beautiful untidiness. This is the first ever catkins on my four year old native mixed hedge πŸ’š.

If you discover a hibernating bumblebee while digging in your garden or allotment this winter, try to avoid disturbing her, and loosely re-cover her so she can hit the snooze button until spring. More advice from @bumblebeetrust.bsky.social at www.bumblebeeconservation.org #SaveTheBees #nature 🐝

A horrific outbreak of bird flu. This is what happens when we cram animals into tiny cages. We need to choose what we chew - more wisely.

My most favourite sound is the song of the Curlew. Whenever I'm near the East coast I listen out for it. Haunting is a perfect description.

This is a little friend of mine that's decided to live in my greenhouse for the winter. It's happily eating it's way through a pelargonium. I think it's the caterpillar of the Angle Shades moth. #nature #caterpillar #moth #ukwildlife

A bit about me. I'm all the things that are hated on X. #Vegan, woke, atheist, left wing, lover of wind turbines and solar panels in the countryside, progressive, driver of an EV, supporter of #rewilding. I don't hero worship anyone but I admire #creatives and experts.

This is a selection of my longstitch needlepoint wall hangings displayed around my house. If you would like to make one yourself the instructions and stitching charts can be downloaded from my website. #needlepoint #stitching #needlework #embroidery #wallhanging

Nice start to Bluesky. Notifications are a nuisance. I can't work out how to switch them off. I'm not sure why men with no interest in needlework want to follow me unless you're all secret stitchers.
