1000 years ago my fellow copy editors & I were asked to defend our jobs. The poorly trained sub McKinsey wannabes were flummoxed by our response: ‘If we’ve done a good job, no one would ever know we’d been there.’ All jobs do not display visible results.

Congratulations, America. How the world sees you. youtube.com/watch?v=gHPo...

I googled. He's real. In certain special cases, I feel a new pope should forgo taking a new papal name and stick with his own, most excellent, one.

You have to hand it to the techies at @theguardian.com. Their old app was buggy and unstable, so they got to work, and now the new app is — virtually unusable. Badly designed, prone to skipping about, almost impossible to use. I’d ask what they were thinking, but it’s clear they weren’t.

Good to know non-capitalist vibes survive…

C’mon, easy mistake to make. Who among us has not confused the two?
