I’m absolutely serious about this. Today I have registered the domain name womenforhumanrights.co.uk Maybe this won’t be what sticks, but it’s a start. Explainer about how I got to this choice in various conversations in the original 🧵 All humans welcome.

Portia is the first agent framework I've come across that has features that actively improve reliability - it's good to see that investors recognise it as an important feature if agents are ever to make it to production. (Full disclosure: I'm working with Portia at the moment)

Obviously things have got dramatically worse in the US recently, and I don't want to diminish that, but I've been at *so many* conferences in the UK on topics like empire, humanitarianism and development where multiple speakers from the Global South have been denied visas or held at the border

This is a really easy-to-read paper on the topic of how C maps (or doesn't map) to modern processors.

The phantom yarn-bomber of Harrison Park has been at it again. This time it’s cherry blossom. Brilliant as always !

I always wish there would be more diversity in open source contributions. I enjoy contributing to open source and I would love to share this joy with other #PyLadies Come join us at the mentored sprint at #PyLadiesCon - no prior experience is required: conference.pyladies.com/about/sprints/

Sitting in a bar in London. Little kids are playing on the green outside. One of them is wearing a football strip - for a team that has an unusual primary sponsor - and so he has the words "Who gives a crap?" emblazoned across his chest.

I put out a post that I was at a loose end in London, and voila! Last night I met up with the lovely @adamj.eu - this is the kind of thing I used to be able to do with Twitter #NatureIsHealing

I used the phrase "brand identity" in front of a room of people today. I don't even know who I am any more 😐

Huh! I find myself with an evening free in London, and no plan! Whoops.

Ran my first 20km today in training for a half-mara next month! 😄 I'm running for @scotrefugeecouncil.bsky.social to help refugees rebuild their lives here in Scotland. I'm almost at 70% of my target! Any donations at all are HUGELY appreciated! Thank you ❤️🫶 www.justgiving.com/page/amy-mci...

Put up by Katy Brand today - this is the story over and over again

It's Transgender Visibility Day. Transgender people, like everyone else, deserve to have healthcare, legal recognition of their status and protection under the law. They are on the front line, being used as a wedge to attack all minority groups, and deserve our support.

I want to emphasize that I do not recommend this BUT if Der Spiegle can find the personal phone numbers of Trump administration officials so can you and we have established they have Signal installed WHICH MEANS that there is little preventing you from inviting Hegseth or Waltz into group chats

I'm sad that cargo e-bikes weren't a thing when my daughter went to school. I see people doing this every day on the canal path near my home, and I envy them! www.theatlantic.com/family/archi...

An anecdote in @whippletom.bsky.social's great book 'Battle of the Beams' made me realise I was looking at a puzzle I knew well from my proof.kucharski.io research, but in a new disguise. The story begins in 1941, with a growing network of Nazi radar stations across Europe... 1/

One of the nice little details in fish shell is that listing files correctly orders filenames with embedded sequence numbers. (For what it's worth, you also get this with exa/eza if you don't want to switch your shell)
