Lateley I find myself thinking about this passage – a lot. I wrote Tāwle in 2018. A peace about a young German-Syrian trying to help his family in wor-torn #Syria 💚 8 years later I am still searching for an answer. #writersky #booksky #schreibsky #theater

✨Changing the world. One Utopia at a time. ✨ Wanna come? 😏 #schreibsky #writersky #booksky #fantasy #writer #writingcommunity

#PhantastikPrompts: was bedeutet Sicherheit fĂźr Deine Figuren?

#schreibsky #writersky #theater #fantasy

I don’t want to mirror what I see anymore. 🫣 I want to create worlds in balance and then let complex characters fight like hell to keep it. 😎 ✨Changing the world. One Utopia at a time ✨ #schreibsky #writersky #booksky #writerscommunity #fantasy #utopia

Another example: #Fae vs #Fairy As long as we are talking those cute little #fairytale versions with wings and pixie dust everything is fine because „everyone knows“ what that is. But Fae? No, that‘s „too complicated“ to explain please call them fairies. 🙄 #schreibsky #theater #writersky

For generations mainstream #storytelling centered mainstream #tropes, e.g. #FAMILY as a conservative construct of mother, father and children. A default setting that no one questions. A story centering a young girl with two Mums without explanation? Suddenly everyone asks WHY 🤷🏻‍♀️ #writerslife

On that note: Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day. Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links. Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo

The thing I learned writing a #Fantasy play for a #theatre: People (especially professionals producing for a young audience) struggle with not being able to rely on common #fairytale #tropes. ✨Newsflash: If you want new stories … you actually have to tell them! #schreibsky #writersky #writers

Sidenote: That #play I wrote against all odds got me ✨my first festival invitation ✨a nomination for best emerging #writer ✨a #publishing deal Guess which one did the least for me 😅 ? (Spoiler alert: It was not the one I expected)

I don’t want to mirror what I see. I want to envision. I want to imagine. I want to empower. I want to hope. #schreibsky #writersky #fantasywriters #booksky #vision

A tale about the #story I wasn’t supposed to write. 2017 I worked as a directors assistant when I was asked to pitch an idea for a project of my own. It was supposed to be my first production for a professional #theatre company. A story 🧵 … #schreibsky #writersky #playwright #syria
