Well, well, well…..

So you’re telling me Tim couldn’t have fit through the wires instead of climbing it?

Conclave on Peacock & 93% RT. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow & Isabella Rossellini. I’m not surprised the film has 8 Oscar noms. The film centers around a pope who died and holding a conclave to pick the next pope. It has mystery and twist and turns. I really enjoyed this film.

Smile2 on Paramount+ & 86% RT. Starring Naomi Scott, Ray Nicholson (Jack’s son) and Dylan Gelula. I enjoyed the first Smile, but I thought this was a better script and scarier than the first. I actually squirmed (unlike me). If you like thriller/horror, this is up your alley.

Blink Twice on Prime & 75% RT. Starring Channing Tatum, Adria Arjona and Naomi Ackerman. Zoe Kravitz did a masterful job for her solo directorial debut tackling this difficult subject matter. I like seeing Channing take on a different type of character and nail it. Worth the watch.

You’re Cordially Invited. Prime & 48% RT. Starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. If you need background noise while scrolling through social media…it’s sufficient. Disappointing is the only word I can come up with.

American Primeval on NF 68% RT. Starring Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin. I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for anything Peter Berg does. This mini series set in the 1850’s covering the LDS/Brigham Young plans to occupy land amongst Indians and settlers. I’m not a fan of westerns, but this brutally brilliant.

Paradise on Hulu 86% on RT. This is a crime thriller staring Sterling K Brown, Julianne Nicholson and James Marsden and producer/writer Dan Fogelman (This Is Us). This had a twist I didn’t see coming. The script, acting and cinematography are all on point. I really like it, you should check it out.

I’m rewatching The West Wing and the Newsroom for my sanity. Both on Max.

Well…she’s baaaack!

This just in 1/19 10:50 am It’ll never be the same though…

It’s West Wing reruns for the next 4 years for me or insanity.

Juror #2 Currently on Max & 92% RT. I admire Clint Eastwood that he’s still directing films and Toni and Nicholas are great. That being said, it’s a slow movie, and it’s hard to connect with the characters (editing issue?) and sub characters are cheesy. It’s no Twelve Angry Men, but worth watching.

Golden Globes - turn your background music down, you can’t hear the voice overs and I’m waiting for someone to win an award, turn around and fall down the stairs. Thanks. #goldenglobes #cbs

The film and tv playoffs are today! The Golden Globes at 8 pm on CBS. I have my predictions, what are yours? www.cbsnews.com/news/2025-go...

Red One (2024 and 30% on RT). On Prime. I know, I know, the critics didn’t like this movie staring The Rock, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu and JK Simmons. However, audiences have enjoyed it. I’ve seen it twice and it’s a fresh view of Santa mixed with an action movie script. This is a fun Christmas movie!

Secret Santa (2018 and 43% on RT) Currently on Prime. It’s Christmas, it’s bloody, it’s got dark humor and the cinematography is pretty good for an indie film. The script is unique and the over the top performances actually work. If you like Christmas and horror then check it out.

The Family Man (2000 and 58% on RT). Currently on Peacock, Starz & Netflix. You could say this is a modern day “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Nick Cage realizes what his life would have been like had he stayed with his college girlfriend Tea Leoni. Don Cheadle and Jeremy Piven round-out the cast.

Better Watch Out (2016 and 89% on RT). Currently on Peacock. A twist I didn’t see coming, a script that wasn’t cheesy, and 10 out of 10 casting. This is an easy, but entertaining watch.

Black Christmas (1974 and 71% on RT). Currently on Prime. Cast includes Olivia Hussey, the dad from ANoES, John Saxon, Andrea Martin, and Margot Kidder. I thought the script was original for its time and the cinematography was well done. If you like thrillers and Christmas, you’ll like this.
